Momentum ahead of Valencia tie

235

Having come through a tortuous December, Celtic will have the opportunity to regain momentum with six of their next seven games at home.  The only away match in the series a return to McDiarmid Park, where they inflicted a 0-6 defeat on St Johnstone earlier this season.

Sixth placed St Johnstone are the highest-ranking domestic team they face on that run, who Celtic also play at home on 30 January, before facing Valencia at Celtic Park on Valentine’s Day.

Forthcoming games against Airdrie in the Scottish Cup, then St Mirren and Hamilton in the league, will give Brendan Rodgers an opportunity to give Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo some game time.  We have time to prepare for the big game on Valentine’s.

I hope you are well and looking after the wildlife.

I believe a red card or two or three was issued to some posters.

I’m not sure if Kev was one, though.

That post makes perfect sense to me.i particularly liked the ending – it stinks’ comment,I used to cycle that path regularly, down near the clyde, the honk at times hung over that area from the sewerage works was mingin.

I agree it makes no commercial sense and as a club it’s a place of work.as an aside I am sure minty/son of minty have a lot of tracts of development land about that area along the campsies to Torrance(as well as a lot of other areas along m8 corridor to embra).

Also we would have to be liquidated and restart our club if we were to pay back all the ‘free money’koonsil grants that built lennoxtown/debt Celtic park as you know we Got everything paid and built for nothing.:-)

Hope your keeping in good form and health is gettin better each day :-)

  11. None of the above mentioned are good enough to play for Celtic Football Club.

So please desist or if you must start a rumour, at least make it up that we are signing half decent footballers.

    HH. ?

Yaya Toure 1.5m in wages for 6 months?

Celtic are even on points with Rangers though we do have a game in hand.

If the bid for Ntcham is £14m plus a centre back I would take that today.

Forrest can go in the summer unless Liverpool want to go over £20m now.

So Burke, Bayo and Weah. Is Bayo an Amido Balde or a Pierre Van Hooijdonk? Will Weah play at all? Is Burke a replCement for Forrest?

Will we resist the inevitable bid for McGregor and is the Tierney saga really over?

Don’t ask me who we should go for but we badly need leaders and stability not a revolving door.

Getting Ntcham and 3 others off the wage bill would be significant.

  13. Jimmynotpaul,

Had a great week last week surveying out west. Both kind of eagles seen.

Sorry to hear Kevjungle May have been banned. I like a variety of viewpoints on here. Hope you are well.

  14. What’s in a (big) name signing anyway?

Let’s just suppose for a minute that the guys who run the football side of our club do ken their stuff.

The lad Gutman’s YT reel show a powerful player with a great engine and eye for ball-winning and the odd goal

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u7CeeJUE_c

More than fancy Gutman’s like up against diminishing Dafoes or Davieses’s’ss!

    KTF bhoys!

  15. Good Morning all… So the team are back from Dubai and Raring to go, for eight in a row… think we might see some splendid football in the second half of the Season… goals galore!!

    JIMMYNOTPAUL @ 8:00 PM,

Yes, it’s interesting that now cricket is such a wealthy sport we see so little great West Indians.

Read an article once that it was the American influence, games like basketball becoming so popular.

Globalisation offers so many opportunities but so many places are not building on great traditions…

That W’indies team must be up there with Brazilian team of 1970 and Richie McCaw’s All Blacks…

    Our rumour mongers are pathetic.

    HH. ?

A bit harsh mate, some guys are trying hard ,to think of new names…..?

  17. The Transfer Window to me anyway, is going well. My perfect situation , well almost, would be Ya Ya, Victor, keep Ralston as right back, sell Jamesy to Liverpool for big bucks and buy young Paddy from Citeh.

That will do for me cocker

the market valuations report, produced by Savills in 2013, for the various transactions around celtic park and the east end regenerations route.

the westhorn recreation ground , south of the london road social club, and the barrowfield pitch is subject to much discussions around the web, including the footballtaxhavens blog.

in all the plc dealings, celtic are found to act fairly.

now too developing that plot on westhorn to have an indoor pitch and other associated facility. Site access is a challenge, contamination of the site, turning over the soil and capping. potential mines to be grouted, boxed in by a scrap yard, council allotments, huge dewars facility, in summary its a really difficult site to bring up. and imho will cost way more than £2.4m.

controversial, but clearing the social club might be a way to go. maybe thats in the thinking.

an tearman, i am good, ta for asking, on the mend every day.

I like the development plans we hace for the triangle, and i want us to spend the money we have, just not sure developing barrowfield/westhorn is worth the investment.

other than retirees, who is going to turn up to see a youth game on an october night.
