Monied leagues sweep all

219

It looks like Hibs will take 7,000 fans to Celtic Park for the Scottish Cup quarterfinal on Sunday, which will be the biggest travelling support to visit in many years.  It also equates to around half their average home supporter attendance; there is belief and commitment to the Hibernian cause, with good reason.

Bayern Munich’s progress to the Champions League quarterfinals looks assured after a 3-0 home win over Bayer Leverkusen last night.  The German league leaders relied on a last gasp equaliser at home to Celtic last month to reach this stage of the competition.

Four clubs from outside the big five leagues reached the last stage of the competition.  Each of them lost at home this midweek.  PSV Eindhoven take a 1-7 score to Arsenal on Wednesday.  We have our hard luck story in this season’s competition, but the reality is that the resources needed for a genuinely deep dive into the Champions League only exist in the monied leagues.

Two excellent goals there , the last two, the first one ricocheted against two huns before Dessers put it in, it must be said decent finish by him !

  2. That will teach me to bet on our coefficient monkeys.

Credit to them for their European performances.

  3. Hate to say this but the xxxs are hard to chalk of in this tournament, over the years they have taken a few big scalps .

  4. Dangerous on the counter attack having to make the game against a sit in team hopeless. Fenerbache are either very complacent or garbage.

McCoist can’t get his head around a VAR system which works well and clearly demonstrates graphics for offside. He obviously prefers the Scottish version; a Hun with a telly

  7. Barry Ferguson jumping about like a poor man’s Simeone but still interesting to see the passion. Celtic Park in 10 days will be fun.

Oh my, Jose found out topping up

    His team are seriously bad.

Ripped apart by Bazza & Co 😂

  9. Winning this gets you straight into the CL and the teams are all beatable, non have impressed me in it.

  10. Team coefficients only matter for qualification for the tournaments now, it is country ones which count. So them winning is not so bad. Although at this rate they will have a very easy Thursday night before playing us on the Sunday.

  11. I reckon Jose and crew have been watching reruns of Scottish games , when he should have been concentrating on their European run 😜😵😲
