It looks like Hibs will take 7,000 fans to Celtic Park for the Scottish Cup quarterfinal on Sunday, which will be the biggest travelling support to visit in many years. It also equates to around half their average home supporter attendance; there is belief and commitment to the Hibernian cause, with good reason.
Bayern Munich’s progress to the Champions League quarterfinals looks assured after a 3-0 home win over Bayer Leverkusen last night. The German league leaders relied on a last gasp equaliser at home to Celtic last month to reach this stage of the competition.
Four clubs from outside the big five leagues reached the last stage of the competition. Each of them lost at home this midweek. PSV Eindhoven take a 1-7 score to Arsenal on Wednesday. We have our hard luck story in this season’s competition, but the reality is that the resources needed for a genuinely deep dive into the Champions League only exist in the monied leagues.

BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL @ 8:12 AM,
The book is good advice – especially one that is going to bore you back to sleep apparently;)
Well past the worst of it, but concentrating on a book was initially hard going.
Podcasts were good…
Cheers…

I’ve got the complete works of Charles Dickens in the house.
If they made this mandatory reading instead of sentencing to community service?
Misdemeanour crime rates would plummet.
BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL on 7TH MARCH 2025 8:09 AM, 9:11 AM,
Well, as I inherited the family book collection – I do have the complete works of Charles Dickens, so I’ll give it a go:)))
On the R2ngers, that’s an excellent observation – for me the sooner they can get a new owner with a proper business approach, who won’t be catering to their delusional fan base the better for Celtic.
Of course, no fan of the old firm myself, but there is an element both inside Celtic Park and in the support base at large that are quite happy to watch what the Rangerses are dae’n and as long as we are better than them that’s fine.
It has been proven now, Celtic can attract quality players and can compete in the UCL.
If R2ngers can improve to be pushing us domestically and after our UCL slot, good news for them, great news for us….
Hail Hail

Given our desire to improve in Europe and belief that they are not worth considering it is interesting to note that the one measure used by uefa to rank teams has them around 30 places above us.
A gap which has widened since your hero took over btw. This past 2 years they have gathered 31 points and growing. We have claimed just 23.
Barry Ferguson has won more knockout games in Europe as a manager than Brendan. Worth noting.

Thanks for the updates re Old Tim. Much appreciated.
Guys,
We all know the traffic situation is horrendous on match day, especially on a Sunday where more car use is very evident.
Driving on some streets in Glasgow is now a nightmare with no pavement parking. How on earth do bus drivers , bin lorries etc manage ?
Just imagine the problems with any increased capacity .
I remember ” On your bike” used to be a Tory slur.

Completely irrelevant as we’re literally in a different league.
Barry Ferguson has won more knockout games in Europe as a manager than Brendan. Worth nothing
fixed that for you.

Wonder who the Queens Park players ‘blame’ for the wonderful Sevco coefficient?
The ‘old firmists’ are getting excited.

Factually wrong. Incorrect and false.
“Barry Ferguson has won more knockout games in Europe as a manager than Brendan. Worth noting.
There he goes again…this guy’s got a real sour spot in his heart for our manager.
Things you might read in the daily record – “Barry Ferguson has won more knockout games in Europe as a manager than Brendan”, with the same degree of lazy research or willful misinformation.
Brendan’s Celtic beat Astana, Be’er Sheva, Linfield, Rosenberg, Suduva.
I already hear the “But…but…but…these were qualifying rounds”. We also beat Zenit in Europa round of 32.
Honestly Chairboy, I don’t know how you keep up the energy to reply to these posts.
Glad I don’t sit beside him at the games. Such a bore!

Coefficient points should not be the same for picking up points in the CL, Europa League ,and conference league.
It is much more difficult to pick up points in the CL .
There should be a weighting system applied ,similar to scoring goals for the Golden boot .
I am someone who never dismisses the threat coming from Ayebrokes,or indeed any other opponent.
I am tainted as being negative or cowardly for always never underestimating our opposition .
But I believe that state of mind has served me well in life in general .
I took nothing for granted ,and put in 100% every day .In retrospect ,I must admit that I do wish that I was able to worry less, now and again .
So with all that being said .
Brendan Rodgers draw in Munich was a better achievement ,than Dirty Barry’s in Istanbul.
Though both were worthy of praise.
The litmus test of counting coefficient points as measure of success as things stand ,is fundamentally flawed.
Celtic have been vulnerable, when pressed for months now .
We will have our work cut out against the Hibs ,and the Darnel .
Only top level performances from Celtic will be good enough .

6 music are celebrating the 35 year of DMs Violator today. Interviews etc, and only music from 1990 all day.
I’m sure it was you that said they were your favourite band.
An Dun 11.04
My point exactly .
If we look ,we’ll see that Livingston have collected more points in the championship this season ,than they did last season in the SPFL.
The issue is that their is not equal Kudos given to those points ,irrespective of the standard of league that they are achieved in .

BSR…@11.25 could be him, yes…🥱😴😊
if only rangers could add their co-efficent points to their scottish league points they would be ……………
We will have our work cut out against the Hibs ,and the Darnel .
Only top level performances from Celtic will be good enough .

——————–
we dont need top level performances at all.
we can beat them and every other team in the league in 2nd gear.
hibs might suprise us with a game plan.
2nd rangers might get lucky with the bazza bounce.
i care not a jot, league is won, sure aother treble would be nice , but its just icing on the cake.

1990 was some year for music and probably one of the most exciting of my life.
DM, Stone Roses, Wedding Present, Year of Culture, Graduated, started work , fury Murrys, The Tunnel (thurs), sub club, O’Henry’s, Caskies.
PS Celtic were shite but still went to the games 😎

i wish posters would stop giving advice to Sevco. Some of it is no doubt smart and sensible, however, I am relieved that the thick huns dont accept this advice
There is the danger that some Hun might take on board the suggestions and improve them.
Keep up the sarcasm and flippant suggestions like give Barry and his Minions the job permanently.
Less of the good advice.
Now we are amused at how gullible they can be, but, we dont want them to improve we want them to lose every game. We love Jelly and Icecream but its bad for your teeth and blood sugar levels.
Dont even think of whats good for them and certainly dont post it
Dont mention the potential of the 49 ners doing a glaziers and ripping them to skimming profits of the top and them driving them to a deeper place.
Dont give them good advice
