More wingers mitigate Celtic risk

314

Having signed two wingers in season 2022-23 (Jota – on a permanent contract, Haksabanovic) and four in season 2023-24 (Palma, Kuhn, Yang, Tilio), Celtic cut back on their most persistent transfer fix and limited the arrival of wingers to Jota during the season just finished.

We are again reported to be in the market for a winger; there are reasons.  Jota is out injured until the end of the year, Daizen Maeda has two years left on his contract, which he has so far declined to extend.  While Nicolas Kuhn will attract more attention than anyone else in the squad, in particular from his native Germany.

With Kuhn and Maeda under contract, Celtic have a degree of control ahead of the Champions League qualifiers in August, but that is not complete control.  Players who are attracting attention seldom perform at their best near deadline day.  Even if we resolve to keep both players for the season ahead, at this stage of the summer, there is reasons to be concerned about how focussed parts of the squad will be in August.

More wingers is one way to mitigate the risk.

I’d guess odds of 3/1 on a world war before 2030 would be reasonable.

Surely we can’t that stupid, can we?………however i sometimes think we’ve peaked as a species!

SS- Why did Maxwell mention Celtic re pyros, and not Sevco? If you don’t know, I can’t help you

  4. Money in your pocket and bank account and the plc are very interested in having you spend that on Celtic, money in the plc’s bank account courtesy of you and all other fans and customers they’re not interested, it’s the only power the fans have, their own spending power. Communication if anything has got worse, Lawwell was high profile as a CEO,but he was visible, Nicholson hides or feels he has no need to explain anything. Jamieson will provide statements with no name attached.

I am going to take a stab at – RANGERS DIDNT GET TO HAMPDEN. in the scottish cup

And therefor they didnt take parts in any Pryo at Hampden for an SFA hosted competition.

    Simply that.

Callum McGregor took fears over yobs directly to Celtic board

    From DR website, job done.

  9. If I recall, Celtic matches were delayed by pyro, Brendan and Captain were both seen on the screams annoyed.

Is he allowed to go to his employer and complain ?

  10. Surely the SFA get match officials/delegates reports from games in which bottles and various other things have been thrown at Celtic players at Ibrox, they the SFA supply the match officials he could have mentioned that but didn’t. Convenient for him, BBC Sport Scotland is nothing but a gang hut of Sevco supporters and he wouldn’t be asked anything of the goings on at Ibrox.

The hun do what the hun want. Always been that way for the two versions of the scum.

  12. Great to see Bath Rugby win the premiership after finishing bottom 3 years ago.

Outstanding coaching turned things around and allowed them to beat bigger budgeted and more fashionable teams.

A wee bit of our Finn Russell helped. A guy who always buys a ticket and wins the lottery most times. He also had the good sense to partner a Jesuit Glasgow educated girl.

Hoping he gets a start for the British & Irish Lions v Argentina next Friday at the Aviva. A fair few of us going over for that. His pass, for a try, to the local Bath lad when he could have scored himself was the hallmark of a great sportsman and a really good team player.

  15. I thought our captain was wrong to be crying on his managers arms. I said so at the time. I feared he was opening himself to ridicule.

Our work is still covered with some ( to be honest ) quite funny depictions of ridicule .

My opinion and its only my opinion is that it is unbecoming of a Celtic captain to greet in public after losing a game of football.

Far too much real ragedy in our midsts more deserving of tears.

However If true , Callum our captain has every right to voice complaints to his employer

I can only imagine the reply :- ” Dry your eyes Callum ”

I would say :- Take your anger out on improvement and focus on winning. Youre a great player and captain, but toughen up and make the opposition cry.

    Get inta them Callum.
