More wingers mitigate Celtic risk

314

Having signed two wingers in season 2022-23 (Jota – on a permanent contract, Haksabanovic) and four in season 2023-24 (Palma, Kuhn, Yang, Tilio), Celtic cut back on their most persistent transfer fix and limited the arrival of wingers to Jota during the season just finished.

We are again reported to be in the market for a winger; there are reasons.  Jota is out injured until the end of the year, Daizen Maeda has two years left on his contract, which he has so far declined to extend.  While Nicolas Kuhn will attract more attention than anyone else in the squad, in particular from his native Germany.

With Kuhn and Maeda under contract, Celtic have a degree of control ahead of the Champions League qualifiers in August, but that is not complete control.  Players who are attracting attention seldom perform at their best near deadline day.  Even if we resolve to keep both players for the season ahead, at this stage of the summer, there is reasons to be concerned about how focussed parts of the squad will be in August.

More wingers is one way to mitigate the risk.

  1. lets all do the huddle on

Sir Paul67 got knighted for his services to Tim bloggery – by King George VI I think going by how long CQN has been alive for.

It caused a schism between him and his mate Lawwell at the time, who thought he should have been knighted for his services to whatever it is he does.

  2. lets all do the huddle on

horse called Daizen running at hamilton today.

but its 28-1 so nae chance.

should dress our Daizen up in a horse costume and sneak him in place of it and he will romp home.

  3. lets all do the huddle on

if the horse Daizen looks suspiciously like Dobbin from Rentaghost and neighs in Japanese when it gets loaded into stall 2 in the first race at hamilton then lump on it!

New policy to help Scottish clubs in Europe

Plan to assist teams in UEFA Play-Off action

The SPFL Board has approved a new policy which will allow William Hill Premiership clubs to postpone one specific league match next season to enhance preparations for UEFA Play-Off round qualifiers.

The move allows clubs to postpone their William Hill Premiership fixture in matchday three, which is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 23/24 August, between the first and second legs of the UEFA Play-Off round fixtures in the 2025/26 season.

The SPFL’s Competitions Working Group had been exploring how the league could best support clubs aiming to reach the league phase of UEFA competitions amid an extremely congested fixture calendar, due to the additional dates required for UEFA club competitions from this season.

The Competitions Working Group – which includes a number of top flight clubs – has now unanimously made a recommendation to the SPFL Board to introduce a policy allowing any club participating in a match in a UEFA Club Competition Play-Off round to apply to the SPFL for a postponement of its William Hill Premiership round 3 match without the consent of its opponent. To date, any such postponement would have required the agreement of the opposing club and the league.

    – Well they would know wouldn’t they.

  9. The SPFL uses specialized software from a company called GotSoccer to generate its fixture lists. This software helps the SPFL create multiple fixture options based on a “fixture recipe” that outlines the league’s requirements. GotSoccer has experience with other European leagues and even other sports like MLB and NBA. The SPFL then reviews these options and selects the most suitable fixture list.

    Here’s a more detailed explanation:

    “Fixture Recipe”:

The SPFL provides GotSoccer with a set of rules and constraints, known as the “fixture recipe,” which includes factors like team pairings, stadium availability, and broadcast requirements.

    Optimization Software:

GotSoccer uses its proprietary software to generate numerous possible fixture combinations based on the recipe.

    Review and Selection:

The SPFL then reviews these generated options, considering factors like fairness, logistical feasibility, and potential for exciting matchups.

    Finalization:

The SPFL Executive ultimately approves the final fixture list.

    Saint Stives….

The SPFL makes an effort to ensure fairness in the fixtures. Well, too a degree.

Every season, they try to figure out who will most likely be in the top 6 at the end of the season. If they get that right, everything falls into place in terms of top 6 clubs playing their post-split opponents twice overall home and away.

You will notice that for Us and them, one has a tougher first phase (in terms of home/away).

Last season, in the first round of fixtures:

We were at home to them, Aberdeen and, I think, hertz.

This would mean AWAY to these clubs in round 2, home in round 3, then away in round 4. If the qualify. Hertz didn’t, thankfully.

The one area where the powers that be can give us grief is… pre and post European dates. They seem to get us travelling as much as they can.

    Cheers,

    Weeron.

This season, it will be the opposite. We will have the toughest away games in the first round

I assume we will be at home in week 1 to unfurl the flag and it can’t be week three if a club can postpone that week.

Will they hold it back to later in the first quarter to allow the new hun manager to bed in or make it early and hope for a new manager bounce continuing into week 2?

Its hardly suprising,Grifter George moves towards your racist point of view, the grifter of immigrants i heard vomit bout human beings being illegal,i suppose when his workuz party is cancered with bigots, lodge members and racists like you,all gravitating to the right wing agenda.

Tumbleweed as a reaction to local needs but he took his oath to tongue the monarchs arse so a nice little earner being an mp was til he was voted out at first opportunity, not even gettin ra stoap ra boats boot boys at Bexley could save him,ah well he can always fall back on saps like you to send him some of your disability money.

Repeat not common sense just a grifter playin out to his populist and and racist, like you base.

Shame now he is harvesting the same bigots and racists his immigrant folks fought against

As stated all immigrants have a right to be in Ballymena, its well dodgy folk who dont mention jeffrey Donaldson or David Tweedy, both white when seeking retribution

Ballymena shows unionism in its last throes, flailing its insecure identity about,it used to be Catholics were the ‘them’uns’ now its anyone alien to their, and yours racist kultyir….wonder what yir grifter pal would say there,as he seems to be without oxygen and set in his way regards scotland, its why Scotland left his grifter self serving unionism behind.its about the topic not him,his day is gone.

    Re your wee definition

    .you are just a racist

Nowt to do with right wing or left wing

    Or any of those factors

You racist freaks dont handle any form of sexual conversation well,as i said before dont see any riots outside the 3 whitemens houses, nothing outside Donaldsons, nothing outside Tweedys,

they are white, immune from the hostility you show to those who have a different skin pigment.

Maybe time to get a wee racist girlfriend, jeez interacting with a real human would be a first.

Take your racist self and all your racist monikers and ‘invade’ some other space, you cant be racist and follow a club borne out of refugees, especially with some of the deliverance banjo stuff that only shows you to be a shallow racist.

But i take comfort that you highlight its racism, that is more important than the toing and froing.

And wbc not lookin to win any battle, just as you did, highlight its racism,if no one countered this place would soon have every trope getting repeated and played out in a German Quick news 30s style and that would lead a lot more boredom as the blog suffers from racism and that would be sad on many levels, prime one being a club founded by refugees.
