‘MORTON JUST LIKE PSG,’ DAVIES

ASSISTANT boss Chris Davies insisted Celtic will treat Scottish Cup rivals Morton with the same respect as they would Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

Jim Duffy’s Championship side will provide the opposition in Saturday’s quarter-final tie at Parkhead.

The Hoops’ Premiership plans were hit yesterday by The Beast from the East that forced the game against Dundee in the east end of Glasgow to be postponed.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ No.2 insisted the focus is now on the Cup-tie against the Cappielow men.

Davies said: “It is a trophy we want to win. We have a chance to get into the semi-final and we take absolutely nothing for granted.

“We will do our analysis and preparing for them as though they are a Champions League team.

“There is absolutely no difference. We respect them the same because we need to be ready to win the game and have no complacency.”

The Hoops are potentially just three games away from replicating last season’s memorable success when they completed the domestic clean sweep with their unforgettable 2-1 triumph over Aberdeen.

Rodgers and Davies saw the team fight back after Jonny Hayes had given the Pittodrie outfir the lead.

Stuart Armstrong fired in a quickfire reply and Tom Rogic waltzed through to grab the winner in stoppage time.

It was a fabulous manner in which to bring down the curtain on the Invincibles’ campaign.
