Motherwell inflame and fail to learn lessons

369

Two games into a three game run against Motherwell I would expect to have a bit of claret and amber fatigue. But frankly, I can’t wait to get stuck into them tomorrow. I know we took the cup on Sunday, and rescued our Invincibility-ness on Wednesday, but their manager’s inappropriate reaction after the final, then the club’s statement, where they assert referee decisions affected both games, whereas “should any evidence exist” that missiles were thrown at Celtic players, they will act.

So evidence might not exist? Maybe Leigh Griffiths brought that bottle onto the field himself and the coins dropped from Mikael Lustig’s waste-band.

Very clever, Motherwell. What actually happened was your manager inflamed your fans ahead of Wednesday, then your stewards failed to even look at the crowd while missiles were raining on Celtic players. Then your subsequent statement assured everyone that you had no evidence of wrongdoing.

You condoned the actions of your players, who learned nothing after Sunday and repeated the same mistakes on Wednesday. You fail to condemn your fans after Wednesday, who will learn only that there are no consequences for their actions.

Can we talk about Celtic for a moment?

If Celtic is your thing, and you will be at tomorrow’s game, you can contribute to the Foundation Bucket Collection. The Foundation feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless and comforts those in deprivation, all in your name.

It is a magnificent gift to us as Celtic supporters. Nowhere else in the football world does an organisation of such scope and action exist.

Bring some cash and join the Movement.

  1. THOMTHETIM FOR OSCAR

Agree on that and to add to it i think Celtic players in the Scotland squad suffer because of.

They are put in a losing environment with poor coaching which nullifies anything gained from playing against quality international players.

It’s a learning environment for bad habits.

Cafe Andaluz not reasonably priced though.

Try Bar91 Candleriggs, great menu and also burgers for the “wanes’ a propósit

  3. ” But we are nowhere near as dynamic or potent as last season.”

Why, then, are we creating so many chances? My own view is that we are playing at least as well as ever but are simply not converting as many of our many goal scoring opportunities. .

Creating chances we are but potent we are not.

Also we seem to be playing at a slower pace so less dynamic.

    Just my opinion though.

Thank you guys for your kind words and encouragement. It means a great deal to me. Tutu is now back in the wardrobe and I’ll be back posting but trying not to lose the rag with anyone. I couldn’t be happier with all things Celtic at the moment, club, team, manager and our superb fans.

You shouldn’t have mentioned the tutu.

Now any mention of “flounce” on here will provoke horrible visions of gnarled, hairy legs topped by a wee white tutu.

    Good to see you back.

As I posted the other night, it’s the lack of consistency that irks.

I know there are different mods and they have a difficult task, but there is no doubt one is more zealous than other(s)

Swearing for example, sometimes I read back days late and certain swear words are still there, other times same words deleted almost instantly.

Anyway as I said the other night, it’s not my ball so not my rules, but it is so frustrating when good posts disappear through no fault of the poster.

Agree with your post earlier. I prefer McGregor playing a bit further back, where he has more space in front of him and we get the ball forward quicker. You could see the difference in the semi-final against Hibs when he dropped back when Rogic came on for Armstrong.

We need a bit more zip in the passing and movement in and around the box too. Maybe wingers doubling up for a few minutes, players making dummy runs. Just a bit of variety really.

I don’t think moderating is an exact science and I think that the spirit of the blog is more important than hard and fast rules.

The spirit of the blog is that we are all good looking, knowledgeable and intelligent, with a built in sharp sense of humour.

    Anything else is optional.

Thanks also to you two ghuys. I got a wee bit irked the other night. However, there are too many good things happening at the moment to be bothered dwelling on trivial matters.

I was reading somewhere that Regan Hendry of the Development squad is training with the first team today.

This lad is one to watch. He captains the youths from midfield and is the type of player who takes games by the scruff of the neck.

  15. Fellow Tims

I think you are all confusing racism with sectarianism in Scotland.

    There is no catholic gene.

If you are referring to the Celtic gene then its distribution is quite well spread over western Europe.

Small Faces, now they were the real Mods.
