St Johnstone (through manager Steve Lomas) and Kilmarnock, through Rangers supporter (literal sense) Michael Johnston, have both declared their vote to allow a Newco to take Rangers place in the SPL next season. Celtic will vote against and Dundee United appear open to persuasion. The next most important team in the country is Motherwell.
Motherwell, alongside Celtic, Dundee United and St Johnstone have a place on the SPL board. They are migrating towards ownership and control by a large number of small supporter-shareholders, they’ve benefited from Rangers demise and in July will feature in the Champions League qualification draw, broadcast live from Monaco.
On the downside, despite their on-field success this season, the club will have to trim football budget for the coming season as Champions League qualifying money does not make up for earning less from cup runs this season and inflation pushing costs up.
Motherwell fans seemed to enjoy their visit to Ibrox on Saturday but does anyone expect them to vote against Rangers?

They would want to charge double or treble time.
the meeting couldn’t have been finalised anyways without all member clubs having a vote.
David Hillier @DavidHillier
The delay in SPL meeting till 30th leaves Newco sanctions at discretion of board. Allows BM to continue private negotiations.
Paul – MTH @MTHForum
Rangers weren’t at the meeting as they were compiling the NewCo, this much is evident. With Doncaster’s help this will be a smooth ride
Yes folks, the cheating goes on,…..nothing to see here..
absolutely scunnered wae all this.

Rangers don’t have the cash to survive until 30th and big tax case should be decided by then too. Seems #SPL vote now largely irrelevant.
Ghuys
So Duff £ Phelps never even turned-up, nice way to win friends, totally unprofessional. I suspect Duff & Phelps did not want a grilling on just exactly where they are with this takeover garbage…….. 30th May 2012 , the day the cash runs out at Ipox…..
Looks to me as though all the football authorities are too canny to switch off the life support machine and the FTT judges can also take as long as they like….. the patient will die eventually of natural cause (i.e. no cash).
Still hopefully, the FTT case lands next week, as another 3 weeks of CFC proposed resignations, SFL3 applications, season books not being renewed argument is too much to take.
Chillpillcfc
Quite simple – if they do not have enough information to make a decision – i likewise do not have enough information on whether i should renew my season ticket ( both of them )
Enough is enough if they cant even be bothered turning up they really are extracting the urine time for unilateral action and ban them forthwith its becoming a laughing stock
So it took to 3pm for somebody to realise that the huns were missing
Feckin brilliant
Maybe they’d allow Celtic two votes, you know, seeing as they are the only representative present from the Old F…….
Maybe not.
Decision postponed – not surprising & not (in my opinion) suspicious.
The RFCIA situation is NOT at its end – not nearly so. Much water to flow under that particular bridge.
The regulations in respect of the SPL share & the rules which apply to its transfer & the SFA membership criteria all remain in place and are big, big obstacles for D&P and Newco.
The postponement is not significant either way.

Lads surely now that other fans are against a newco can we not get a meeting organised between each club to put pressure on their chairmen.

Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston says not enough info to make a decision. #SPL
============================
Of course there is’nt all they have is rhetoric.
No decision should be taken without a proper risk analysis that provides an estimate of the cost to the SPL as a whole and how that falls on each club.
Then alternatives should be examined to see what can be done to reduce those costs.
Allowiing Newco in should be the last option not the first.
when in doubt dae nowt

Apparently the fixtures last season were announced on June 17th.
This farcical postponement is just smoke and mirrors to give the illusion of a process taking place. The decision has already clearly been made – The SPL is just trying to find a way to announce it.
Let’s hear something Celtic.
It’s a bad day when discredited BBC ‘journalists’ say they are speaking for us.
The fans deserve to hear something especially at renewal time.
Statement from the Board of the Celtic
Trust
Over recent days there has been much
discussion amongst Celtic supporters,
(indeed amongst all football
supporters,) about the implications of
the present situation of Rangers FC Plc
(in administration) and how this will
impact on the future of the SPL.
Some Celtic supporters have expressed
disquiet that the various organisations
representing the Celtic support have not
publicly responded to recent events.
However, we would like to reassure
Trust members that the Trust Board has
been monitoring the situation closely
and has been actively involved in
developing strategies to meet future
situations. Over the past two weeks we
have:
· Held discussions with other Celtic
supporter organisations to devise a joint
response.
· Been a signatory to a letter sent
from all the Celtic Supporter
organisations to the Chairpersons of all
SPL Clubs and to Neil Doncaster Chief
Executive of the SPL, prior to the
meeting at Hampden last Monday
stressing that sporting integrity must be
paramount in any decision made.
· Had two meetings with the Celtic
Chief Executive at which we have
conveyed to him the very strong feelings
being expressed by the support
· Been invited to meet with Neil
Doncaster and this meeting will take
place on the first available date which is
Tuesday 8th May.
Be assured that we will continue to
monitor events as they unfold and keep
members informed of developments. We
are totally opposed to a so-called
‘newco’ being admitted into the SPL.
Should this come about we will be
consulting with our members and with
other Celtic supporter organisations
with the aim of deciding on an
appropriate response.
In the meantime we are very keen to
hear the opinions of our members on
the present situation and would
welcome any contribution to the debate
members may wish to make. Any
member who wishes to do so please
contact us at celtictrust@hotmail.com

SPL delay decisions financial fair play and voting rights
By Chris McLaughlin
Senior Football Reporter, BBC Scotland
Scottish Premier League clubs meeting at Hampden have delayed voting on financial fair play rules until 30 May.
Proposals for increased penalties for clubs in administration include the docking of 10 points for two seasons and the loss of 75% of income for three years.
Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston told BBC Scotland there was not enough information to make a decision.
Rangers did not attend Monday’s SPL meeting at Hampden.
Current rules state that, should a member club wish to transfer its share in the league to a new company, the decision to accept or reject lies with the SPL board.
The top flight clubs were also due to vote on whether to change the league’s voting stucture but that too has been delayed until the end of May.

@DavidHillier Yorkston claims more clarity on EBTs required. Time for SPL to produce its findings as well.
No need for RFCIA to have anyone else there, Doncaster seems to be working for them.
Do you know what I:
1. rfc (in administration) continue to treat Scottish Football with contempt.
2. I think that they are waiting on somebody else to take the decision i.e. HMRC.
However, I doubt that will come soon. HMRC do not have any control over when the FTT result will be announced.
A question, why did they not send a Representative? The answer would be interesting. Could it be they think they knew what the outcome would be?
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
Duff & Phelps were against the proposed rule changes. Not sending somebody to the meeting might have been a delaying tactic. It was in their interest not to be there.
HAil HAil
Im so stunned the vote was delayed today!!!
By the end of the month they will be liquidated anyway. I think the clubs are just protecting themselves from any consequences which makes sense, as the saying goes “We have to live here”.
Nobody wants to be seen to pull the trigger so it will be either HMRC that do it or just wait till they run out of cash, either way I think a few folk on here can relax and breathe for they are finished.
Hail Hail
I dont know how complicated the reasons for today’s lack of decision is. I’ve got a feeling that these guys quite simply don’t know what to do.
No one wants to take the first deadly shot.
Over to Hector. Can I suggest May 25th.
