  1. I think that if Celtic make the CL and Sevco make the EL group stages… both teams will progress out of them.

Bring Big Vic back, I know that thats not Easy.

Victors interview after the Barca game was Truly Magical.

  2. I expect ourselves and Tutankhamun FC to level on 9 points come our visit to Ibrox.

That game will be vital in putting down a marker.

But, of course, you could be using the Old Iocane gambit, in which case, if you are not a hun, you must be a Sicilian … or Wallace Shawn. I claim my five pounds.☺️

If your going to quote me please copy and paste, no way I would have spelt Neil as Neal … here is what I posted

“if the Sevs do manage to win first Glasgow derby of the season Peter & Dermot might give Neil a big signing … but who knows … I canny see the Sevs beating us but that’s just my outlook”

But I noticed you also edited Dermot but left Peter in :-)

  5. Sevco making the Europa is definitely a bonus for us. I personally can’t be assed with the Europa and want CL or nothing. Thursday Sunday football is simply awful.

  6. The bookies will probably have Rangers favourites for the first glasgow derby of the season no matter what happens before then.

Simply based on our dreadful displays there last season.

We might have to cut our boys some slack because to be honest Champions league qualification kind of trumps everything at the moment.

Yes Rangers have Europa League but lets face it…its’s a welcome but poor second best.

I think this season is going to be a straight two team fight for the league with every dropped point crucial and head to heads almost definitive.

We must not lose there [ibrox]

A win would be awesome but we must not lose.

Long time no talk, my friend. Nice to see you on here. All is well, I hope.

  8. BLUEGRASS CELT :))

i remember a chat about me visiting my cousins who stayed down by the canal in Milton, it was a while ago , glad to see you on .

This is a recurring theme / dream waiting till last minute , as of now its been a pleasant dream , the nightmare scenario doesn’t bare thinking about .

anyhoo need to get things organised roonaboot the hoose .

ps …i have no doubt we have gifted players at the club , but defo need toughened up across the midfield.

  9. LazyD- Bain has done very well, and BR picked him on passing the ball out, Neil has changed this, and i would put Gordon back in,

All is good. Hope you are well.

Thought it was time to join back in the madness.

Can’t believe the panty wetting over the Huns on here right now.

Our team and squad is stronger than any in the league and if wee go into each game with the right attitude then I don’t foresee a problem.

Still, it would be nice if PL let Neil have access to the savings account. The adult one. Not the child one.

I know what you mean but…..

‘Champions league or nothing’ is almost impossible scenario.

IF we win on tuesday Europa group stage footbal is already secured even if we lose the play off champions league tie.

If we lose on tuesday we are likely to be playing a pretty weak team in the Europa play off.

I cannot really see a scenario likely that does not involve Europa league group unless we really excel and qualify for the champions league this time.

  12. I think Sevco have a way to go to prove they can put a run of 7 or 8 wins together.

We’ve lost one domestic game in 2019 and are clear favourites for everything without even touching the Tierney money.

I’m most definitely a jungle jim……..I’m far to feckin good lookin to be curran bun! …..and I get more timishly good looking the closer I get to 60 but the tight caaaants on the board make it more harder to look this good than ageing will ever do………get the dosh spent pronto! 🍀

  14. MOONBEAMSWD on 11TH AUGUST 2019 7:11 PM

    No panty wetting

Just Celtic fans talking about the biggest threat from over the city for about 8/9 years.

If PL is as egotistical about the quality in our squad and team as you then why would he need to spend more money when we clearly have the better players and team?.

I happen to believe that we do have better players than anyone else in Scotland but I also happen to think that the Ibrox team are edging closer all the time.

Last seasons two visits there proved as much.

If we play anything like those two toothless performances we could be in trouble.

I am optimistic however that NL knows this and has a plan to tighten us up for the upcoming fixture and I am also confident that PL knows we need a couple of really quality 5-8 million pound players added to our team to kick us on.

  15. LazyDynamite

Yep. Group stage football is all but secure.

If we’re in Europa and travelling all over Eastern Europe then I’d be in favour of resting top players.

I don’t think we have to excel to beat Prague. They had one decent season last year and that’s it. A competent performance over both legs will see them off.

  16. Sevco lost the league last year because of their performances against the other teams. If they tighten that up this year ( jury still out) then we will have to win at least 3 of the derbies to remain comfortable. 1st September is a big match.

  17. AN DUN on 11TH AUGUST 2019 7:21 PM

If we can get past Cluj and then knock out Prague I will accept any strain on our league form [for know] as the glory and prestige of the champions league still means everything.

I am sure it would also be an incredible boost to the players and our managers confidence going forward.

If we are not top of the league but safely qualified for the big cup I will still be very happy.

But yes like you as far as the Europa goes this season?….not really interested..bigger fish to fry

  18. Tuesday night is not a given, they scored twice in Israel, we need to focus for the whole game and not ease off, particularly at the back, I want a defence that doesnt want to concede from the first to the last minute, plenty going forward in this Celtic team, lets see the defence getting meaner.

  19. If I was Steven Gerrard I would almost sabotaging my teams attempt on the Europa League this season.

Of course his board will not see it that way as they NEED group stage football to keep the lights on.

the thurs/sun thing could really play in our favour if we make the champions league.

However if we don’t it is almost a sure thing that we too will also be in the Europa playing thurs/sun which is what rangers will be praying for.

  20. Re the huns and bigot dome. My advice is Panic ye not. Ask how many huns would get in our team. Yeah, right, none so fear not we will put them back in their place.

  21. Lazy

I strive for CL group qualification and the ability to make a fist of getting 2nd place in group.

Sevco aren’t even on my radar.

  22. My only gripe with Craig Gordan was his distrubution.

He hardly ever let us down in any other aspect.

Now we have stopped the fannying around at the back surely he deserves his place back.

Scott Bain who has been okay let in a really soft goal on saturday which could have been costly.

It wasn’t but the mistake stands.

    NL has to be ruthless.

One soft goal and you are out for the next man to come in.

McGregor , Tavinier, Arfield and Morelos would get in mine. Let’s not kid ourselves. Get the blinkers off

  24. INIQUITOUSIV on 11TH AUGUST 2019 3:32 PM

Anybody notice that Slavia Prague won 1-0 yesterday, and their scorer was Masopust, the same name as the legendary captain of the Czech team that lost the 1962 World Cup Final 3-1 to Brazil, with Masopust scoring?

Old timers will remember a superb Scottish team defeating the same team 3-2 at Hampden in 1961, with Denis Law notching a hat trick in front of over 100,000. These were the days!

    IniquitousIV

    ………….

Josef Masopust also captained Dukla Prague against us in the 1967 European Cup semi final.

  25. ‘How many huns would have gotten in our team’ before the last two ibrox visits?…

I am pretty sure ‘they’ would not take much of our defensive back five right now with the clear exception of Ajer.

  26. GFTB

Sorry about the typos. I acknowledge I blew it. In my defense, I was doing it from memory on my phone as I couldn’t cut and paste.

But isn’t the real point that losing on September 1 is far too late to think about signing anyone the next day? Why not be pre-emtive, plan ahead, and bury them?

I was only jesting about the typos, on your point I agree what I want Celtic to do but I was posting what I “think” our board will … I do think any other new signings will depend on our European participation (CL/EL) but also my point was “if” we didn’t win at Ibrox there could be a reactionary signing … just my thoughts

  28. RON67 on 11TH AUGUST 2019 6:53 PM

Hope we are both wrong and they come good,as for the proposed Killie boy never caught my eye any time I seen him.

  29. Remember this low life pretending he took an interest in the child abuse story and tried calling Peter Lawwell out and pretended he had the abused at heart ?

    His tweet below.

    @ProfTomkins

Great to be back at Ibrox today. Always good to see a team wearing green thumped 6-1 😂

  30. GFTB

O.K. Mate, I’m glad we both want the same thing. But consider this – if we are fortunate enough to beat Slavia (and I’m not counting my chickens) on August 28 to get into the CL, or AIK Stockholm on August 29 to get into the Europa League, we still only have 3 or 4 days to make an impact signing. That’s a long shot, given the dicking about we have done for weeks. I see that the talk now is of chump change for Taylor. It would make you weep. What really worries me is how Neil (correct sp😊) is dampening down expectations on using any of the KT transfer income.

Jeez, this site is becoming unmanageable – my posts keep freezing.

    IniquitousIV

  31. People keep referring to the fact they beat us twice but I don’t think that’s relevant now. Let’s remember that the second defeat, we were in autopilot, drifting towards the end of the season. While no derby should be taken lightly, it clearly meant more to them than us. This time around, we’ll be a different beast.

As for them getting into the EL – I hope they do for the number of games they’ll have to play. Also, people on here can deny it all they like, we’ve suffered with our co-efficients since they died and partly the reason why we have to play so many qualifiers. Shocking results such as the one Killie had doesn’t help either.

  32. IniquitousIV 8.20pm

If… still a big “If” we get by Cluj then we are guaranteed EL group stages at the very least … like others have said I will wait until transfer windae is shut then see how things stand … I do think our European participation will be a big deciding factor on potential signings or loans …

Logging off will “read back” in the morning :-)
