  1. FT –

    4 – 1……………….Sounds good, I’ll take that.

    Hope Hamilton Hump the Huns

    HHH.

    PS

Big Packy – at it, Phoney baloney.

great movement going forward – the issue is defensive midfield and back line – but more the fact that the coaching staff cant see It nor fix it. Its hard t okay this at 4-1 ahead but Motherwell could easily have had 4 or 5

    ————————

how ? they only had 3 attempts on target.

  3. Excellent but yeah Drew I was annoyed with that as well, does he not know what his job is? that statement would have any of us in our jobs under serious pressure never mind the manager of Celtic, I think like you he either has checked out or is not taking it serious either way its done for me.

We don’t look happy and the entire playing squad has went backwards,

4-1 today against a poor motherwell team doesn’t make things better, it keeps the points tally going is all.

Great result. Well done Moi, especially after al, that nonsense about his ‘phone.

Keeps Lenny in a job. He needs to find a way to shape us to defend. We’re just rotten at defending set pieces. Also gave up 14 shots. The defence is weak, but exposed by a midfield that does virtually nothing to protect them. We concede a huge number of goals and good teams – like Sevco – will beat us unless we can sort it. I have my doubts.

If we can sort that we showed again we have the tools going forward.

  5. I despise watching celtic play with one up front against a team like Motherwell . Many of their attacks came from their back line driving forward – their number 5 was like a midfielder. The do that knowing our lone striker is covered. We invite teams onto our weak midfield and powder puff defense.

its been obvious since the start of the season – yet we have nor seen Soro , Turnbull or a signing that we know can give us an engine.

4-1 win is pleasing but I know Lennon will say how happy he is and not do anything about the weaknesses.

  6. lets all do the huddle on

when andy walker says “on another day that could be a red”

    what he actually means is

“had the opposition not been celtic then the motherwell player would have got a red”

  7. KLV

Hope you are good mate …

    A poor Motherwell ??

Neil’s domestic record should never be dismissed … trophy after trophy 🏆

Europe ??? Am 50 years young and no Celtic manager has ever done much (Seville apart) for me …

Blind Faith … Neil must stay :-)

  8. In June 2019, Motherwell agreed a club-record £3.25 million fee with Celtic for Turnbull.[16][17] The proposed deal collapsed when medical tests found that Turnbull would require preventative surgery on his left knee, and the clubs could not agree revised terms.[18] Turnbull returned to Motherwell, had his knee operation – performed by renowned London surgeon Andy Williams – then underwent a rehabilitation programme across the winter (alongside teammate Charles Dunne who was recovering from a groin injury) and resumed full training in February 2020.[17][19] He made his return to the first team as a second half substitute at home to St Mirren on 25 February.[20] On 11 March 2020, Turnbull signed a contract extension with Motherwell to run until 2022.[21] With the 2019–20 season halted days afterwards due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland, he successfully re-established himself as an important member of the side at the outset of 2020–21.[22]

    Celtic

Turnbull joined Celtic on 27 August 2020, on a four-year deal.[23] The fee of around £3 million[24] was a club record for Motherwell.[25] After three substitute appearances during September, he made his first start for the club on 4 October against St Johnstone.[26]

    —————————

Why cant David get a game ?

Could it be that he is not at the same level as he was before the injury ? He was out a longtime.

  9. I can understand posters who say that was a good performance and result but there were still worrying deficiencies

But posters saying they can see no improvement from a 1:4 result to a 4:1 win, then I just distrust your ability to let facts influence an entrenched position

We have turned no corners but we have managed to get to step one in a long recovery road . That’s gotta be worth at least a forced smile and some encouragement. We can save the scathing assessments for the games which justify that

  10. CaddingtonCommon on

Lucky lucky none of our players finished this game without a serious injury. As I said earlier it was the worst refereeing I have seen since Trump was a nice person.

Difficult circumstances and a super result. Not really a time for post mortems.

    Hail Hail

    Stay Safe

  11. Much needed result. Great hat trick by Elyounoussi.

Still need to tighten up midfield to defence but well done Celtic 🍀

  12. Great result away against the form team in the league. Not sure what some folks are looking for from the Bhoys but that was very good. Great goals and strong efforts from everyone. Well done Neil

  13. The officiating today was shocking, two red card offences not punished. Free kicks for nothing against us and none given under the same circumstances.

  14. Strange responses to a win. I get it. I feel it too.

But if I can suggest that it must be a hard station for our nearest challengers to do the maths on this. Despite us being well short of our potential, collectively and individually, we are breathing down their necks.

The reality of where we are is a season with all to play for bar Europe.

The first half was generally good. The team looked comfortable and like they were trying to ‘manage’ the game. Ajers pace and presence helped.

Second half we faded again. Post European hangover, lack of fitness, whatever it is needs to stop. That said we were lifted by Moi’s goal and full credit to El Hamed. He has a great cross in his repertoire. Not one I have written off.

We should have been playing against 10 men after that assault of wee jezza.

If we can replicate the energy, shape and attitude of the first half consistently we will be fine. If. …

  15. Good result and well taken goals. I thought Ajeti did well he gets absolutely no service, no wonder he’s frustrated.

Still shacky at the back with at times a cavern in midfield at times. Thought Broonie did well and at times broke up plans well but my God how many times did he give the ball away when he was trying to make passes of 5 feet? Absolute madness for a professional.

Finally, Dallas cheat of the highest order. Assualt on Frimpong a red card in every league in the world, yellow card, dealt with nothing to see here Timmy!

  16. It’s funny how we react to similar goals – bitton outjumped at the back post and the defence is a sieve.

Moi outjumps their defender and it’s a salmon leap.

    All about opinions

  17. when shumbdy fae Shortie Shays………….

“Celtic won it in the end…………”

They mean they were hopeful right upto to the end that we’d get beat.

    Aye.

  18. Pleased to get the result.

The game was crying out for a Celtic reshuffle for 10 minutes before Motherwell scored, with our back line and midfield becoming fragile. Ntcham made his contribution but I would still like to see what Soro & Turnbull contribute. Soro & Turnbull seem to be parked in the same way as Klimala & Griffiths. Given the number of games we are playing I would have expected more opportunities for both midfield and front substitutions.

I’m not convined that our defensive organisation will bear inspection by a European quality team, or Sevco for that matter.

Again pleased to have secured 3 points.

  19. Hi Gerry, I am good mate, Good to see Sleepy Joe and the hoops win but Neil has to go for me, Sorry to be a damp squib. Our Bhoys should be flying not crawling. Huge sqaud with lots of individual brilliance but we are not seeing a team or any improvements, As I say if my team was making the same mistakes week in week out and no signs of improvement as a unit I would be under severe pressure from my bosses.

Sorry to disagree Gerry but I think he has been offered support and said no in saying that Peter played on our emotions when he gave him the job. Terrible decision at board level, like res 12 and anything since 2012, they sit on their hands and make mugs of us all.

HH bud and enjoy your Sunday, some Malbec cracked at FT. :)

No thanks big jimmy – I’ll decide

    ……………..

That would have been YOU Feckin CHEERING when Motherwell scored….Admit it.

You wanted Celtic to drop points Today just so that you can come on here and say ” I told you so BEFORE the game”. Your Post on Page 1 was Feckin Despicable and Hun like.

    Celtic supporter …My Arse ?

  21. By the way, we need to get into sevco heads on this – they are ‘flying’ we are ‘floundering’, but they still have very little wriggle room for stumbles of their own.

If we were in their shoes we would be nervy.

Don’t think they’ll drop points today but we have kept ourselves in there. This race will either go to the wire or we will sort our selves out and storm ahead. At this stage it is the former. But I live in hope.

  22. Buggerlugs aschliekonowitz on

Papering over the cracks with a win at Motherwell today, should not divert anyone’s attention from the very serious problems currently at Celtic Park.

Am I allowed to share this opinion on this blog, ( 57 years a loyal fan,) without being told to ” Do one Mhunkey Boy” ?

I only want what is best for the glorious Glasgow Celtic, so I’ll await your apology VOGUEPUNTER. Many thanks.

  23. Well done NEIL LENNON…and well done Celtic FC.

Thats a bit more like it Bhoys.

I asked you to Rattle in a few Goals Today and you didnt let me down.

    HH.

  24. Great result but opposition was poor and sadly I did not see enough of a change in play, style or attitude to give confidence that this “team” has it. The goal celebrations were clear for all to see – they couldn’t look less together or less interested. It is a very unhappy ship and this skipper ain’t gonna fix it.

  25. Relief! Only 2 mins of added time, despite the treatment for Frimpong and numerous subs. Just in case we might tale another notch off the goal difference?

  26. Well done good result ….second half was back to trying to play that awful ball retention slow across and backward football ….too much play in and around our penalty area….Certainly not a corner turned for me…The personnel used were/ are the same ones who have the “CULTURAL ATTITUDE”issue…so don’t know when we will see that much needed change ….

Have Celtic become a graveyard for up and coming stars ….

  27. Great result, but. The goals that Scott Bain has lost,IMHO no reaL chance with any of them,on here,Barkas would be getting pelters from the usual idiots.Do yourselves a favour.
