  3. Good morning from an overcast but dry North Staffs.

Was out last night so could only follow the game by having a quick look on here, so thanks for the updates.

We have the VAR light version – if there’s not sufficient cameras to check accurately for offside then it’s not fit for purpose – a bit like the SFA and Referees association.

  4. The same people, with their background and baggage, are working the VAR as have officiated on the park, unsurprisingly with the same outcomes. There has been quite a bit of enthusiastic naivety about VAR. But we have seen, for the last 3 years, that VAR is imperfect and requires skill and integrity to operate it fairly and properly. Even then, mistakes are made. Operators see things that are not happening or intervene inappropriately or are conveniently limited by the technology etc. The fact that we all know it is imperfect, and will remain so, provides the perfect cover for those who are incompetent or manipulative. This won’t change. Var doesn’t and can’t eliminate honest, or otherwise, mistakes in officiating. It magnifies them. As they become fewer, each comes with a much higher and significant tariff.

  5. BRRB….

As I was out yesterday getting my COVID and FLU Jags, and the going to the Pub, i only saw SOME of the early Racing Results on my Phone.

I watched the CELTS in the Hoose, and then Logged On to my Bookie Account and I had a nice SURPRISE as I had backed Five Winners in total, which wasnt too great….HOWEVER, TWO of the Horses that I backed WON at 16/1 and 9/2.

I had those Two winners on THREE Separate Lines…Ya Dancer !

    So, I showed a GOOD wee Profit…….as well as The CELTS….WINNING !

Let me know when you can about Fridays VENUE, as I am staying at home Today as I am due to get my TESCO Delivery this afternoon, so I am gonna lie on the Couch all day….Im knackered.

    LOL

    HH Mate.

  6. Motherwell pitch looked in excellent condition for good football.

A few years ago there was a stipulation that all clubs must have a 10,000 seater stadium. (saved Aberdeen from relegation) same should be made for grass pitches although that’ll be asking turkeys to vote for Christmas.

I said last week the Celtic will only get a VAR decision if it has no effect on the result. Jotas offside goal was against us as it woild have put us clear of Motherwell and secured the 3 points imho.

The VAR line shown last night was a disgrace but, right enough, so was the ref. Until we can afford more VAR cameras we should forget about this Mickey Mouse operatiom

    HH

  7. NOT seeking an argument but, what WAS CLEARLY EVIDENT in last Nights game ( and other games so far), is that NO MATTER HOW WELL Celtic may play, these VAR/REF Decisions are preventing Celtic from winning by larger margins.

Jock Stein apparently said ” Score many Goals and that puts the REF out of the equation” ?

That may have been true to a large extent back in Big Jocks Day, but now with this CROOKED VAR in place, The REFs and VAR Officials have license to HINDER Celtic, as much as they can.

JOTA’S ” Goal last night that was chalked off for apparent offside, is a CLEAR Example of Celtic scoring a very fine Goal, consisting of the brilliant turn by KYOGO….His Pass to JOTA…and JOTA Lobbing the Ball into the Net.

That was sheer brilliance by BOTH Players, which even a NEUTRAL would applaud ?

So there you have it….at times NO MATTER how Brilliant Celtic play, or how Fantastic a Celtic move is…the REFS and VAR NOW have a COMPLETE STRANGLHOLD over our game.

    HH.

Venue change. Shipbank tomorrow at 1pm.

    …………

MAGIC Mate. I’ll buy you and the Bhoys a couple of extra Pints for helping me out.

    Cheers BRRB,

    HH

  9. WHATS gonna bring CHANGE before Celtic FC SPEAK OUT ?

Am I gonna have to Blow Up all the VAR Boxes….?????

They used to call me….” GELGNITE PETE” back in the Day.

    LOL.

    Only Joking Bhoys.

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________

    GENE

It’s inconceivable that there is not at least one VAR camera in each half of the pitch to check for offsides. Surely there cannot be one on the left hand side as we watched yesterday’s game only to ‘check’ for offsides at the other end. Surely there must be another one, just we were not shown it? If there is only one camera for offside then the idiot in charge of making this decision needs to go, there are offsides in both halves of the pitch! Until I can see evidence otherwise we had a perfectly onside goal chopped off last night.

  11. Just watched the national news on BBC1. To my amazement the lead story was not ‘the shy’ leading to our second goal. Sportscene had rule books out and everything as they discussed that shy for what seemed about 10 minutes.

Had the Jota ‘goal’ been Sevco it stands, pure and simple. What we are entitled to do this morning is ask the VAR department – precisely – on what basis was that goal considered to be offside.

  12. TET – Sorry to hear of your loss of your dog.

Big Jimmy – Wee Rocky lives on. Hail Hail.

    D :)

  13. I’ve got a feeling that some hun in the BBC monitor’s these pages and tailor’s the story to wind us up.

7 points ahead and looking down CSC

  14. GENE

Apparently there is a camera at each 18 yard line and also at the halfway line. So why show one at the other end of the pitch and not the one at the 18 yard line or halfway? Paranoid? Not enough it seems

  15. MELBOURNE MICK on 9TH NOVEMBER 2022 11:13 PM

    DRAMBOWIECELT

What a kick in the guts for der hun if we take full points from

RC, as I’m sure thems would have expected VAR and the mibs to

    keep them in the hunt.

    ————————

Just imagine what the league table would look like if VAR was being used fairly and properly.

Can anyone do that comparison based on all the dodgy decisions for them and against us since VARs (inexplicably) quick introduction during a season?

  16. Whilst I enjoyed the dulcet tones of Jock Brown on Hesgoal, my son was at the game. Came home raging. Was convinced that the decision to disallow Jota’s exquisite goal was made by a doorbell cam somewhere in Netherton.

Perhaps the time has come for Celtic to take their own cameras to games. A request that will be refused, no doubt.

The only teething problems that the SFA/SPFL/Referees will have with VAR to date, is the fact that Celtic continue to win matches despite their collective best efforts.

Look out for ‘Celtic by Numbers’ posts which feature analysis by a neutral ref ‘the Yorkshire whistler ‘

The next one shouldb be interesting.

Season book just arrived from Ireland, courtesy of the great Celt Coneybhoy 👍. I’ll be in the Sports bar early on Saturday with big Jimmy. Maybe St Tams the toff will leave his heated seat in the Kerrydale to join us.👍😂

  19. Emerald- it’s just as we suspected,VAR has been rushed in with 6 cameras, previously used on Scotsport,to stop Celtic winning this league, and to help Sevco,as last night proved perfectly. Absolutely no clear evidence Jota was offside ,and a probable handball for a Hearts penalty, which wasn’t even looked at by the VAR cheat, and Beaton was also perfectly positioned about 5 yards away,7 points could disappear very quickly here.

    ……………..

Your RIGHT BADA. Our SEVEN Point lead at the moment could be gone in no time, due to the Hun Refs and VAR….NO MATTER how well Celtic play.

TET – Sorry to hear of your loss of your dog.

Big Jimmy – Wee Rocky lives on. Hail Hail.

    ……………………

He certainly does Mate, every day he is in my thoughts.

I STILL laugh at ROCKY BHOY from a few years ago when I was Working or coming hame from the Pub etc.

We had a large RANCH STYLE Fence to cordon off my garden from the main Road in Bishopbriggs.

Rocky would be out in my Garden or usually lying in a neighbours garden, and he could SPOT me from AFAR thru the gaps in the fence, and come RUNNING at full speed towards me on the street, while CLIMBING Two High Fences, and sprinting 50/60 yards to welcome me home.

Once on the street he would walk with me to my front Door and into the Hoose.

My WIFE at the time NEVER Welcomed me like that !

Rocky was just a great wee character.

I hope that you and the Family are Fit and Well mate.

My HEID is bursting with anger at this CROOKED VAR and the Hun Refs.

Cheers M. I’m back in Dublin in January. Maybe meet up with you, Almore and WITS. If Mrs BRRB allows me. 🙄

  24. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Emerald Bee @ 09:44.

    Cheers. Was unaware of this.

    Ball heading towards the net.

Hand goes up deliberately, ball hits it.

    Much clearer infringement than Bernabei’s.

    Strip and Stadium key factors.

  25. Re Hearts’ ‘penalty’ last night – as others have hinted, was it covered (wall to wall like ours) on Sportscene last night? Haven’t seen the highlights programme yet, but don’t think it was mentioned (going by comments on here). Selective examination of key talking points, eh?

Cheating bassas the lot of them – this title/flag is going to be so sweet!

  26. The free kick that led to Motherwell’s goal was a Willie Collum special, a free kick for a non-existent foul.

  27. 79CAPS

Thought so too at the time and looking at replays I am more convinced of it. I think it was O’Reilly who reacted on the pitch, couldn’t believe it was given and says so to the Clown with the whistle!
