We let ourselves down continuously with overhit passes when we have good options. AJ in particular is guilty of this. Hetate missing today again. Nowhere near the player he can be.

Hatate playing like this is a warm up game. Way too casual and careless with his passing. Maeda not bombing about and careless with the ball. Should have had a penalty after blatant shove from Halliday.
This team shape will improve when idah is on (should have started). Kyogo movement is great but they can’t find him – when we’ll tire , he would be better coming on last 20 to exploit shape.
Valle is a clever footballer and not shy to dig in the tackle.
One of these games we need to put to bed – Motherwell have hit the post and bar and have been a threat at set pieces.

Motherwell started well as our new midfield was finding its feet – but we dominated the final 30 minutes there. A few loose passes and some difficulty in controlling the hard hit passes but nobody is playing badly.

Bit of a slow start today which is understandable after the mid-week exertions and the fact we have 5 first team regulars not starting. We did get going though, and settled into the game. Good goal from McCowan pushing through the middle from midfield. M’Well did start brightly but have already run out of steam. Expect Brendan will make a couple of tweaks at HT and we’ll go on to score a few second half.

So far it’s the type of game that Kyogo can easily get lost in. He needs us to be creating plenty of chances and we’re just not doing that. Motherwell probably should be in front at this point
Sorry An Dún but you only get a goal for puting the ball below the crossbar and between the uprights. So Celtic deserve to be ahead,not Motherwell.

The handball is irrelevant , the foul happened first . If VAR is saying that’s not a foul then the officials are at it .
