Many called for fringe players, they played, we lost, the referee changed a very well balanced game with a penalty decision which out of 100 would be given 4/5 times, there’s a lot a talk about how strong Celtic are in the midfield, I think this season asks a lot of questions about that…
gerryguk7 on
Rank rotten performance to go with quite a few others this season. Without commons in midfield we look clueless.
A non-penalty and an OG, where there should have been an offside changed the game. Motherwell gave their all, says the commentator. Yes; I’m sure that is true when they play against us and are helped by the MIB.
Celtic played exactly like a team with nothing to play for, whilst Motherwelll were ramped up for the Europa. Mini Black Sunday (not) but very poor end of season stuff from Celtic, with the exception of possibly two players, NFL will be doing well to pick the right side that is able to beat Hibs in the Cup final.
Officialdom aside, as usual, Celtic are a poor defensive unit away from home that changes from one week, to the next and Neil should use the games left to decide on his best side. nothing matters except 26th May and then it will be a summer to regroup, when we’ll lose and gain some players, hopefully in defence where there are obvious deficiencies in personnel and coaching perspective.

Played well in first half I thought but soft goal on half time and v.questionable pen early in 2nd half and that was it. Players 2nd to too many 50/50s and subs didn’t bring much to the party . Well had more to play for and it showed. Watt good for most of game and most of team played well first half and terribly in 2nd
Bit annoying we lost – especially if, like me, you work in Motherwell. But really, so what?

Watt…best for me …his final ball was poor ..but he showed an appetite and desire that few matched
Subs
Most did better than those they replaced
Stokes and McGeouch were good.

All the Helicopter sunday stuff and back to back wins are all our own fault, if we place well the ref doesnt matter. WE done these things and the Media rub it in as they will tomorrow, we play rubbish like today we deserve to be dug up for it. Not saying the msm do it fair but today we give them ammo as we seem to always do.

Analysis time. Beaten 3 to 1. FF beaten at near post, dodgy penalty, OG when Well player challenging was Off-side. However despite fact that Sammi was poor for 78 mins, Rogic stayed in dressing room at half time, none of the defenders emerge with honours. Kayal had a mare, Stoksey or Hooper brought little to the table, yet blame it all on Paddy McCourt. Only for Paddy we would have won by 5 or 6.

That`s the second time we`ve gone to Fir Park with a much changed team and come away with a disappointing defeat. Rob MacLean on Shortbread certainly was enjoying that .

Todays type of performance and result will happen more than it should till our coach learns to properly implement his playing systems.
We leave to much space and become very disjointed at the first sign of adversity.
Our better players carry us through with individual moments but we are to reliant on this.
Neil is lacking in the knowledge to fully implement the system and ideas he has and the board need to recognise this and get him experienced help.
To many average players look good against us due to the time and space we provide them.
Motherwell fought harder today than we did. They had a lot to play for.
I am grateful for what Neil & the team have given us throughout the season.
Only one result now matters. It’s been a GREAT season.

Watt has been good value.
Paddy and Stokes have both added something since coming on but the team performance has been pretty woeful.
Well played M’well.
Amazing how they can raise their game so persistently against Celtic but get stuffed by a 3rd division team…
Utter garbage. Too many of our guys think the season finished last week. Pass marks to Tony Watt only.
A poor end to season,we should be doing better
