  1. Snake Plissken on

I really don’t care about our results from now to the Cup final.

It is about finding players who’ll step up and seeing the ones who don’t.

Thankfully Kayal is out of the Final – totally lost his way and should be punted if anyone wants him.

The bigger picture is the qualifiers for the CL and getting a squad fit and ready for those games.

Let these clowns enjoy their moment, that’s all they have left, moments.

Motherwell players and management are beyond parody. They are Serial lie downers to a team in blue who don’t play with that level of commitment every week or they’d be closer to Celtic.

  2. Ah widae be to doon oan the lads.

Strange kinda game.. as it turned oot..

Nevah a Penalty..Plus a Real Strange and Eerie.. Goal … which wus.. an Offside wan,as weel.

No wonder oor Lads.. Said.. euphemistically..”%(%$$”

Well..Ah canny repeat whit the lads Said.. oan here..but , ye kin guess.

    It jis wisnae oor Day.

    Unhappy.

  3. We need a crabbit bazza in the team to boot those around hims backsides and moan and groan for the entire game, we have the talent but lack the application

  4. fan-a-tic

That’s a football post, insightful and true, as soon as we fall behind the system seems to fall apart and the players seem unable to adjust to the new situation, i.e. Murders get a soft penalty and score their tails go up, we seem to fall apart, our passing in the second half was atrocious and until we find a passing midfielder who can lift the team up or slow them down, who can really dictate the pace of a game we will continue to struggle and make cluggers look good..

Who is today’s scapegoat in a Celtic shirt?

    Scapegoat singular?

  6. Apart from when bug Victor plays there ,as he was forced into when it was 3-1, the centre of our defence is far too weak physically for the game in Scotland

We missed a tackle of the half way line for the first and the third we had 2players covering the one forward because we lack the strength to do the job

Second caused because we are vulnerably to the ball over the top because we do not dominant their limited but strong CF

Biggest criticism of Lenny is that 3years in we still don’t have a decent CB on the books

Make on mistake Wilson and Ambrose have struggled all season against strong but limited players in the SPL

Up front on a day like today we needed someone who could play up front and hold off challenges to allow players to run off him.

Again we lack strength in a key position

We need to clear out guys like Rogne and McCourt

Bring in at least one decent CB and one forward with strength – otherwise we will be watching more of the same next season

    HH

  7. Not a good day, overall not to great a performance, soft penalty decision, stupid own goal, not to many clear cut changes created. Roll on the Cup Final

  8. Coming from this neck of the woods, let me assure you the huns that cant afford the bus fare will be celebrating this result as if they have won the league.

Sorry, but “ole’s” from Motherwell fans as they pass there way around the Celtic team is just unacceptable no matter what stage of the season.

Poor from the mamanger all the way down

    …………………………………

You putting yourself up for change of occupation?

  10. Feel sorry for Rogic and Watt. Young guys getting a start and let down by older hands. I’m sure many will be saying Gary Hooper wasn’t trying. I say he’s just off-form. His header onto the bar was a prime example of a person not in good touch. Speaking of which, his touch was awful. That’s not due to not trying. It’s called having a Regi. See also the point blank save from the type of situation we’ve seen him score so many times.

Dylan and Paddy also did well when they came on.

Sammy was not in the game, but that was more due to the lack of ball he was given. And I guess that was because he was played up front mostly, when we all know he should play out wide.

Only positive note is that perhaps Forster has found his form. Beaten at the near post for the first but I don’t blame him for that. Looked like the ball bobbled as it was struck and it went in a different direction from that intended. After that, some of his saves were top notch.

  11. That fud Tanner at the end of the game:

“Celtic have now dropped 33 points this season – a record in the history of the SPL (for winners of said competition). Took great pleasure in pointing that out.

Some players in holiday mode already.

Hats off to to young Tony – our best player by a mile. Never gave up, although it didn’t always come off.

    HH!!

  12. Just can’t understand why people major on paddy. He didn’t prove a game changer when he came on but did no worse then anyone else for the time he played on the pitch. There are very few who come out of todays game with credit. I thought FF could have saved the 1st but he redeemed himself with a couple of good saves in 2nd half, I thought Tony Watt did well throughout took a few poor options 2nd half but tried his heart out for 90 mins, thought Dylan did OK when he came on. A few others had a decent 1st half but its a 90 minute game and nobody else shone for 90 minutes. Its not just today either the table does not lie, we have had plenty of sub par performances this season but its all MCourts fault..

  13. Miki

You always give your honest opinion unlike thoss clowns in the studio.

You gave your dignity they have their thirty pieces of silver

  14. Are our players coached not to challenge for mid-field clearances, waiting for balls to break to them? Motherwell were first to most of those and then passed around our midfielders and defenders. Tony Watt and McGeouch fought for those balls and took defenders on but we were chasing the game by then. Mulgrew looked bad late on ’cause he was reduced to Hail Mary passes which did not find their man in an effort to spark a revival. Same with Paddy who looked like he was trying to live up to his song-lines. Wanting to go out in a blaze of glory but always brought on when we’re down. No wonder Neil was looking thoughtful near the end. That should convince him Celtic are still a “buying” team, not just a “selling” team.

  15. “Who is today’s scapegoat in a Celtic shirt?”

    >>>>

The rotund geezer in the crowd wearing his shirt over several layers of clothing.

It was all his fault. He distracted the Bhoys on the park with his lack of sartorial elegance.

  16. The Battered Bunnet on

Say Hello to Watt, Rogic and McGeouch.

Wave Goodbye to Rogne, McCourt and Stokes.

Kayal was as busy as usual, but his ball retention was very poor, something that is not acceptable for a player of his experience (he’s 25 this week). Coupled with the booking he gave away in the Cup semi final, not impressed lately.

Aye. He was like the, ahem … invisible man today…

  18. For those who said Mulgrew should play centre back, today again illustrated why he should be midfield. In the latter stages of the game he moved up and was creative. At the back he doesn’t get the chance to use his guile and doesn’t have the pace necessary.

    ——-

No standouts then? That sounds familiar – they underperform as a team as well…

  20. Re McCourt

Give him superstar status …I expect a superstar

Not a tanner baw tribute act ….

His shooting was appalling today ..the rest moderate

But hey….he’s an Irish Tim …..must make him great …

    No thanks …time up IMO

  21. If there is a team which shoots itself in the foot more often than this Celtic team, I would like to meet them. Defence is ragdolled, our passing and tackling are weak but we are consistent at making wrong decisions and losing possession from throw-ins. Just as well the league is over. Hope the right team turns up on cup final day. We have the right to expect some effort from those who wear the Hoops.

  22. Yeah, let’s blame Paddy! Hardly any game time this season just like young Mcgeouch but we expect them to change the game. Too many lazy performances and poor final balls. Tony Watt was our best player but his decision making needs to improve, but he is just a young guy. I have said before our problem has been midfield, this is where a game is won and lost. No creativity, no guile. I’m sure the Paddy haters will disagree with this, but I feel he is our most creative midfielder finding passes that others don’t, but hey we are all entitled to our opinions. The spine of the team needs to be sorted, big strong centre back essential to partner KW and a big strong target man up front a la Chris Sutton. So top of that shopping list 2 big bullies please.

  23. Afternoon bhoys from a cool and wet hun free mountain valley.

    Seen us play better.

Thought young Tony and Tom did good.

The officials earned there corn today.

We really need to get a few in.

  24. Neil Lennon picks the team and decides on tactics, there has been a failure since he took over to address the problems at the centre of the defence until he does so there will be more days like today.+

He’s not known as Tanner The spanner for nothing.

The hurt The Spanner feels over the death of his favourite team is visible on his ugly wee coupon.
