Got to say that was a brilliant performance. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the game on the telly. Well done to The Green Brigade, other Celtic fans in attendance and the Motherwell fans for creating a fantastic atmosphere on a freezing cold night. Loved it. I also really like the BT Presenter. He looks like a Wee Free but I think he is enthusiastic and gives us a fair crack of the whip.

Disappointed in Grant and Sutton saying that the first penalty shout was a soft one and the ref got it right. As for the ref’s decision to deny Pukki and book him when he was clearly stamped on – astonishing.

However, we are playing like a Barca – Real select at the moment and it’s very entertaining to watch. To be honest it is like watching Jock Stein’s team in his first League winning season. The football is great and the goals are flowing. Well done to Lenny and his team of coaches and well done to the players. Great to see Pukki make the goal for Stoksie and great for young Bahrudin Atajic to score his first senior goal.

  5. You can really see from the last two games the advantage of playing CL football!!

These guys have started to believe in themselves! Love to see Pukkie get the ‘break’

He so richly deserves, failing that, I am content to wait for it to ‘happen’.

Neil, must feel like ‘ a dog with two ‘thingies’ at the moment’!

    Celtic! Take your rightful place!!!

Mibbery! Do your worst! However, be mindful, we will pursue you, through the Courts, if

Worst damage/vandalism ever seen at a football match according to Shortie………….hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  7. Dung: “worse damage seen inside a football ground!”

Seriously hope Celtic provide footage of away end toilet damage as a comparison.

This and the flares will completely undermine any reporting on a fabulous performance tonight – absolutely pointless demonstration of so-called support!

  12. With a decent striker and another creative midfielder, this could turn out to be a truly great Celtic side. These players will have learned a lot from their CL adventures and European performances will surely improve as this young team matures.

Tremendous football in the last 2 games which took me back to the Celtic of the late 60s and early 70s, it was that good.

Let’s enjoy the rest of this season and more flowing, scintillating football.

  13. Poor showing tonight against a team that even Albion Rovers gubbed last week

Don’t let those five breakaway goals kid you on -we were on the ropes and only a friendly ref let us off them!

Let’s hope Lenny can get the bhoys up for the game against Barca -he’ll have a really tough job!

Good thing that we’re not up against the mighty Stenny!

    Match report includes:

“However, luck was on their side when a Scott Brown cross deflected off Stevie Hammell’s hand and referee Steven McLean pointed to the corner rather than the penalty spot.”

“Motherwell captain Lasley was incensed, claiming a foul on a team-mate in the lead-up to the goal, and his anger would have intensified had a Joe Ledley header across the face of goal crept inside the far post in the opening exchange of the second half.”

“Brown blasted straight at Neilson from close range, the goalkeeper ungainly scrambled clear a Strokes drive and Pukki was booked for diving when he should have been given a penalty for a late Cummins challenge.”

Never heard of the guy, but my guess is that he’ll go far !

This is a good Celtic side, but they are very far away from being a great side….refer to CL games! Hopefully a very positive Work In Progress!

Most reckon Teemu is a striker, he is never a striker.

He will replace Kris Commons, and he will star in that role, he is a footballer, his movement is superb, his vision is superb, give him time.

    Just my humble opinion.

  19. I will wait to hear from those who were there. ~

but in my experience damage to seats is usually from over exuberance , standing on them etc etc.(ather than deliberate vandalism)

However smokes bombers need their &r$3$ kicked.

Smoke under the stand is suffocating , throwing it is dangerous to the fans or players.

If you suffer from any respiratory ailment a smoke /flare going off is not going to be welcome.

  20. DeniaBhoy in awe of wee Oscar's Courage on

Wonder if NL still thinks he has to rebuild the team – seems to me that it was team selection and tactics that had to change. No coincidence that the team plays much more fluidly without trying to channel everything through JF and Sammi.

  21. I am reminded of an incident at Hampden a few years ago when flares were all the rage. Someone set one off in front of us and my brother was badly affected and was choking. We all gave the perpetrator verbals but the guy just told us to go forth and multiply. Imagine my shock when my father grabbed the guy by the throat and said, “Whit are ye gonnae say tae yer mammy when ye crawl hame the night wi a big fiework up yer arse?”

The 3 of them decided to go for a pee at that point and for some reason never found their way back.

Helluva lot of swallying going on in here tonight..

Ye think Celtic had humped some mini Hun mob or something..

  24. Two excellent performances by Celtic.

More than that, players seemingly enjoying the exhilaration of showing how talented they are and enjoying taking risks and showing off.

Things can go wrong in such a free wheeling set up but I’d rather have the mistakes than be bored rigid with constant safety first footie!

I agree with the comments regarding Efe & Virgil…a great pairing but…am I alone in thinking neither are particularly decisive in the air????

  25. I9 hope everybody watching tonight will have seen Pukki is not a striker. But As I said is a very clever player, and will be a star for us once he gets used to the hammer throwers in this league.Dont believe me,read back my posts.
