JOSE MOURINHO could scupper Celtic’s £3.4million move for Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey.
The Hoops have tabled a big-money bid for the former Hearts defender as they attempt to bolster their options in the No.3 position with Boli Bolingoli’s future uncertain, as CQN reported yesterday.
Greg Taylor could be isolated as Ange Postecoglou’s only established left-sided back-four operator which has hastened the pre-season race for Hickey.
However, the Parkhead men could face competition for the 19-year-old ace from Fiorentina, according to the Scottish Sun.
But the teenager’s future could also depend on the Achilles injury sustained by Roma’s Euro’s wing-back Leonardo Spinazzola which could leave Mourinho looking for a replacement before he kicks off his career at the Serie A outfit.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United gaffer could switch his attention to Hickey who is also a target for newly-appointed coach Vincenzo Italiano at the Florence club.
It seems certain Hickey will leave Bologna in the summer – just one year after arriving from the Tynecastle side.
