Mr Green and his invidious meetings

739

Information leaked from Charles Green that he is due to meet Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell today.  I’ve no idea if it’s true (sooo many wrong steers from over there) but, if accurate, it puts our man in an invidious position.  Mr Green appears generous when reviewing the success of meetings.

At his infamous ‘Blood on their hands’ press conference, would-be-pope-of-Ibrox, Brian Kennedy, told us “HMRC will not agree to a CVA until the very last minute”.  Why would they?  We believe Green has offered £8.5m but he has spoken about having raised £20m.  If HMRC are negotiating at all (and I have my doubts) they will want as much of that £20m as possible, and I’m sure they will, as Mr Kennedy suggested, wait until the very last minute before agreeing to anything (they won’t, b.t.w.).

None of this matters to Mr Green, he can say HMRC told him they’ll scrub the debt if he paints the Blue Room pink and no one can contradict him.  He is likely to be looking for some comfort from Mr Lawwell but I am sure he will be told that Celtic are unable to support any measure to parachute a Newco into the SPL (after his CVA fails, which it will).  Mr Green, who is also trying to maintain the support of the backers needed to commit cash by Friday, will almost certainly emerge from the meeting uttering words like “constructive”, “helpful” or maybe even “very positive”.

He is wasting his time.  Words like “sobering”, “alarming” and “downright obstinate” might be closer to the truth.

had that problem in O’Neill’s (Merchant City) when I tried to take my nephew there before the Falkirk semi-final. Thought it was strange as I had been in there before with friends who had their kids with them. Must have changed their license quite recently.

Do you believe that the duffers can deliver a CVA, not questioning your gut but they haven’t delivered anything in three months, myself I can’t see them delivering a proposal that the creditors will buy…

Next question will be can they provide audited accounts by June 14th?

If not will yet another deadline be extended? Of course it will.

They probably run out of money and die before then and I’m guessing thats what Nancy Regan and Doomcaster want, nobody wants to unleash the hoardes of huns hinted and winked at by the sleekit one and his frankenstein buddy sardine..

People are scared by these thugs and their ways and with this amount of money involved it could get even uglier than it already is..

  15. Re nuclear rumours

A couple of principles guiding options on possible outcomes:

    – refs, journalist, SFA would gladly assist the Shame for nothing, so not this option

    – the EBT is a big fat secret so it needs to be kept in-house, so why would you spread it beyond where you have to

    – 2 avenues to explore, the timing of the money going out and how the money came in to the EBTs

On the money going out, there is evidence that the EBT was used as a transfer bung pot (Souness). Equally, we know that latterly the Shame were struggling with cash flow and there is the possibility that they could not meet their contractual payments via the EBT. In extremis, there may have been players receiving funds from the EBT after their main contract employment with the Shame was terminated, alledgedly. This would invalidate the registration of the players at their new clubs and throw various leagues into the melting pot.

    – the money in rumour focuses on MIM being in alleged receipt of laundered money, which essentially means that the Shame were financed from proceeses of a crime, again allegedly and pure speculation.

If true the latter would take years to prove dragging through the courts and would not impact the Shame in the short term. The former would be far easier to prove, if the allegation / rumour were true.

Seems to me Mr. Murray had a scant regard for the sport of football and he ran the Shame to purely further his business ambitions …. he was / is in the business world where the big bosses are indeed shameless in chasing the green folding paper … nothing would surprise me now, a blow torch would make no impact on these scoundrels neck.

I will settle for an earthquake off the richter scale on the next revelation

I’ve been going about these accounts for well over a month now……..just cannot understand how, under Company Law, let alone SFA rules, any business can continue to trade if they cannot, or will not, produce audited accounts……….!!??

  17. Silver City Neil Lennon on

It’s so long since accounts were relevant, I’m struggling to recall salient points. Before admin Rangers couldn’t produce accounts because they would be signed off as not being a going concern. They are now in administration. How can an auditor saying they are not a going concern make things any worse? What else is there to hide?

Not an expert, but I would suggest that the first job for any administrator would be to produce audited accounts ( as a starting point) …….. D&P seem to be ignoring this, and actually produced unaudited accounts…….just not understanding this aspect at all…..how do you get a bottom line if you don’t have a starting line……??

  23. Woops! Posted this on the last thread by mistake:

I know Celtic fans have a proud history of internationalism and acting in solidarity with oppressed peoples throughout the world. I don’t post a lot and haven’t even been lurking that much recently, so apols if this has been covered, but, following on from the great display by the Green Brigade in support of Palestinian hunger strikers, please have a look at posts in support of Palestinian International Footballer, Mahmoud Sarsak. #lovejustice4all Mahmoud Sarsak is dying! Follow @Addameer_ps, support organisation for Palestinian prisoners.

You don’t have to support the Palestinian cause to support basic human rights! Detention without trial, without charge, even, sometimes over years – sound familiar?
