MULGREW BATTLES BACK
CROCKED Celt Charlie Mulgrew made a 45-minute appearance in the development side’s 4-3 loss at St. Mirren last night.
It was the versatile 29-year-old’s first outing since sustaining a knee injury during the 1-0 win over Partick Thistle on December 3.
Mulgrew lasted until the interval with the Hoops trailing 2-1 before being replaced by teenager Luke Donnelly.
Despite the injury, the Scotland international has been linked with a sensational summer move to Bournemouth, who picked up an automatic £150million for winning promotion to the Premier League.
Forgotten man Derk Boerrigter scored after the young Hoops had gone 2-0 down. Michael Duffy, signed from Derry City in January, grabbed two, but the Paisley eventually got the winner in injury time.
Tom Rogic also played as part of his rehabilitation and came through unscathed and as already reported on CQNMagazine.com today is likely to feature in Ronny Deila’s first team plans in the remaining two matches.
Meanwhile striker Anthony Stokes has been ordered to appear before a court next year over an alleged assault.
The Republic of Ireland international was due for trial this week at Dublin’s Circuit Criminal Court, but the hearing was put back because there were no judges immediately available to take the case.
The trial over an alleged incident with an Elivs impersonator at a nightclub in June 2013 was expected to last two days.
Lawyers for the 26-year-old Dubliner, who has been remanded on bail since last year, initially asked for the case to be put in for mention again in six weeks time, but Judge Martin Nolan agreed to put it back to January 20 next year.
