Mulgrew’s magnificent delivery

1279

I watched Scotland play a more accomplished Wales last night.  No one in blue played particularly well but when Charlie Mulgrew prepared to take a corner from the right in first half stoppage time we knew Wales were in danger.

The pace, low trajectory and movement Charlie gets on the ball negates the natural advantage the defending team has.  The goal had little to do with the young lad who got on the end of the cross, just as Celtic’s remarkable success from corners has little to do with their ability to attack the ball.

The Wee Oscar 4 Life team have asked me to pass on this message:

Wee Oscar 4 Life are delighted to be offering you the chance to win a fantastic and very unique auction prize.

We have been donated a very special bottle of 8 year old Bowmore, which has come straight from the cask. The Whisky is 59.4%, unlike a normal malt whisky which is cut to 40% proof.

The whisky was distilled on 13 March 2001, and bottled on 26 June 2009.  It has been donated by a very kind CQNer. However, not content with already donating 3 bottles from his share of the cask to raise funds for Wee Oscar , we now have his prized possession:

Bottle no 1 of 251.  A very special prize in aid of a very special wee bhoy.

I’d accept that in normal circumstances – but Salmond is well aware of the similar scenarios elsewhere, hence his attempts to consolidate his position before a referendum (which he wrongly believes he will win) by re-structuring the rozzers, using budget finance to control them; allying himself with the MSM, the moneymen and failed bankers who have corruption oozing out of every pore; “losing” the sectarian crime statistics; land deals. The freedom and delight with which the rozzers have been attacking, intimidating and oppressing the GB without any hint of concern shown by the Scottish MSM should be enough of a warning on its own.

Best laugh about Elbows is the way he runs into the box for a corner with his head down.

First time I’ve ever seen an attacking player not looking towards the ball at a corner.

We knew that this was a very special bottle of Bowmore, but we just didn’t realise how special it was!

The first 4 bidders all donated the bottle back and the 5th bidder took it on the basis that he would share it with the first 4 bidders.

The CQNer that donated the bottle in the first place, was so overwhelmed that he has a promised a bottle from his new cask to each of these bidders.

    Happy ending all round!

    Hey guys!

Very excited and proud to say that my first novel, “Believers”, originally started in 2006, is now finished and available on Kindle, with print versions available from midweek.

I am very pleased that this is done. The project has meant a lot to me for a long, long time, and I am delighted it’s finished.

The books about a pair of Edinburgh low-life, sometime students and sometime low level gangsters, who decide to take over their university student union and turn it into a front for an illegal business. They lean on the other candidates to quit the election … but some refuse to go, and one begins to push back … when they bring in their backers for support, he brings in some of his … and things get out of control.

Essentially, the book’s about the invasion of Iraq. It’s not exactly allegorical, but I trust I don’t need to explain the way the plot echoes what the “coalition of the willing” did over there. An illegal invasion, a hostile takeover, resistance and civil war, and the million little atrocities that followed.

This is a very personal book to me, one I took a long time on. For those who read my first published work, “Fragments”, they’ll recognise the chapter “Prelude to a Glasgow Kiss”, which was a standalone story in that book. Here, it introduces the re-introduces the reader to the guy the story opens with, and introduces an even more important character, the “tiny psychopath” Joe Dunn.

Friends, I hope some of you give it a look, and comment on it when you’re done. As ever, love and respect to all of you.

I am going for a much needed glass of something extremely strong!

I find it astonishing that those of us expressing concerns about the SNP and independence are being labelled bigots and fearties.

You’ll find it even more astonishing to learn that no one, other than Ernie Lynch has been labeled as a bigot. And that’s no because he’s pro-labour, it’s because he’s a bigot. Regardless of the side he was arguing I’d have teh same view as he is simply incapable of accepting that a differing view is an equally valid one. I respect peoples rights to hold opinions, what I don’t expect in return is to be called a liar, or a monkey. That’s why Ernie is a bigot.

A vote for independence at the moment is a vote for Salmond.

No, it’s not. As other have pointed out, there will be an alection falling shortly after independence, and at that juncture you can use your vote – and for the first time, your vote will count toward something, it’ll matter.

A vote for Salmond is a vote for Mintyism and his control of the MSM.

No, it’s not. Alex Salmond made a comment that I’d hope he’d make for every large employer in the country – including Rangers.

This is not paranoia FF style, P8ddy, thank you very much.

Unless you are Ernie Lynch in disguise, you owe me an apology. READ MY POSTS!! By all means criticise me for my views, but I’m getting terribly bored of you half reading and taking mock offence at comments that were never aimed at you!

During the review chaired by Christine Graham in the lead up to the bill, it was followed closely every day by many of us here. Going by your reaction today to the Bhould’s link to it, I gather you didn’t follow it – it seemed new to you going by your post? Yet you still argue that it was a rushed mistake. It wasn’t. And as I said before, she ignored the recommendations of many experts, and instead followed the recommendation of the Strathy rozzers, Daryl Broadhood and Pat Nevin.

You mean the reaction where I said I watched it in its entirety? And quoted Ms Grahame from an hour before? It was a rished mistake – read Liberty’s summation. They are independant, they have no axe to grind. They are also a leading civil liberties group who assessed the bill. I posted a link to Liberty’s article. You should read it. They describe the bill as ruched and one that needs “a pause” before going any further on it. So it’s not simply my opinion that it was rushed.

Regardng Salmond and Minty, are you aware of the land deals between these two? Or of the land deals between Minty and Glasgow Council?

Or the land deals between Celtic and the City council? And Glasgow Council is Labour controlled, so hardly fair to blame that on Alex Salmond.

Regarding Strathy rozzers, it’s also worth pointing out that after their collusion with this bill and its subsequent “policing”, not only were they awarded additional budget for it, but leader of the Strathy rozzers, House, has been given oversight of the Scottish Rozzer Service when it commences shortly.

They didn’t “collude” with the SNP on the bill – they came out strongly in favour of it. They provided evidence detailing their need for it. I have no expectation of the Police, other than one where given the opportunity they will abuse their powers.

You miss the part where Celtic has colluded with the olice however. They are guilty in this too.

I’d call this new rozzer service, Salmond’s Praetorian Guard.

You can call it what you like, it won’t make you correct.

Meeja and polis under a rather corrupt control system. This is what you’d be voting for. Need I go into the Scottish banking system. The Scottish legal system. To break away from the temperance afforded to these “institutions” by union with England, would give them free reign to take us even further into corruption and a rozzer/ Salmond state.

You’re lauding the English police as the bastions of good policing? You might want to ask Gerry Conlon about that, or Carole Richardson, or any of the other poor Irish men and women fitted up by the Police for having the temerity to possess an Irish accent. The police across the UK are corrupt – further evidenced by their behaviour during the miners strike, during the London riots…. Recent history is littered with the UK polices abuses of civil liberties. From outlawing taking photographs of the Police to an outragous DNA database. The list is endless.

That doesn’t strike me as a healthy climate in which to be for an independent state.

That’s your opinion. One I disagree with, but respect your right to hold.

Had on the other hand, Salmond had the integrity to deal with some of these issues in Scotland, rather than exacerbate them, I might well have been voting yes. But as it stands, these issues are rapidly getting worse under his command, with his Praetorian Guard there to protect his concerns, and an MSM happy to hop into bed with Minty’s pal.

As I’ve said before, Rangers fans think the bill is out to get them, and them alone. They refer to “Herr Salmond” – that doesn’t mean they are wrong about the bill, but it does mean, that like some Celtic fans (in my opinion) they are misguided about the aims of the bill – if not about the Bills stupidity and catastrophic effect on civil liberties.

You ignore those issues at your peril.

My eyes are wide open. You might realise that if you read my posts rather than reacting to what you think I’ve probably typed.
