“MUPPETS,” GRIFFITHS PUTS THE CURRANT BUN IN ITS PLACE

1

LEIGH GRIFFITHS this morning took to social media to hit back at the growing speculation in the media that he has gone into a huff after being left as an unused substitute over the past few games.

We reported on how Brendan Rodgers handled questions on this subject this morning – read HERE – and the gaffer told the journalists that they’d need to ask Leigh himself how he was feeling about the recent team selections. Well they didn’t have to because the Griff has given them the answer loud and clear.

When Leigh was warming up in the first half at Easter Road on Sunday and the Celtic fans were singing the Stuart Armstrong song, Griffiths was facing the pitch with his hands behind his back and was conducting the choir – hardly a sign of a player in the huff.

Now in response to a story in the Scottish Sun today he has stated that “the gaffer knows, it’s you lot who I’m assuring! Muppets.”

Celtic take on Hamilton tonight at Celtic Park and can extend their unbeaten run in domestic football to 69 games if they avoid defeat. However Brendan Rodgers has insisted it is time too forget about the record and concentrate on playing well and getting the three points.

Griffiths also answered their point directly about whether he’s taken the huff saying, “NAW Iv no!”
