MICHAEL DUFFY had never been to Celtic Park to watch his boyhood idols before this season.

Now the £100,000 deadline-day signing from Derry City is aiming to perform in front of sell-out crowds in Paradise.

The 20-year-old raider, who can play through the middle or on the wing, has initially joined the Development squad, but hopes to make the breakthrough to Ronny Delia’s top team as soon as possible.

Duffy, who agreed a four-and-a-half year deal, said: “My family are all buzzing for me.

“I’ve been constantly getting messages since I signed.

“It’s such a good experience for me being around all these top players. I’m just enjoying it.

“It’s like a dream come true. I came over on trial just before Christmas and spent eight days and saw two matches.

“I had never actually been to Parkhead before to watch a game, but I got to one of the Europa League matches and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing.

“I’m now going to work hard and try my best to make an appearance for the first-team and make the fans happy.

“This is the club I’ve always supported and this is huge for me.

“I need to work hard and put all my effort into it.”
