PATRICK ROBERTS gave Celtic a boost last night when he appeared for almost an hour in his comeback game for the Development side against Partick Thistle at Cappielow.
The on-loan winger had been out of action for three months with a hamstring injury and his previous first team outing was against Motherwell on November 29.
Roberts was replaced in the 57th minute by Grant Savoury before Jack Aitchison netted an 89th-minute winner.
The 21-year-old raider said: “I finished last season quite well, so that’s the main objective again.
“I’ve had a tough season with injuries and it’s about getting right and finishing as strongly as I can.”
The fans’ favourite has endured a torrid time since returning from Manchester City in the summer following his success during the initial 18-month temporary deal.
Roberts has made only 12 appearances, scoring one goal, but could prove to be a vital member of the first team squad in the run-in to the campaign.
