MAIK NAWROCKI’S three-year career at Celtic has ended with his £2.5million permanent shift to French side RC Lens.
Following his season-long loan at Bundesliga 2 outfit Hannovr 96, the £4.3million buy from Legia Warsaw has sealed his exit, as CQN reported at the weekend.
The 25-year-old German-born former Poland Under-21 international centre-back admits regrets after making a mere 20 appearances for the Hoops.
Nawrocki has sent an emotional farewell to Celtic fans after clinching his move to Ligue 1.

The defender, writing on his Instagram account as reported in the Scottish Sun, said: “Dear Celts, unfortunately, my time at the club has come to an end.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this huge club.
“To work every day in such a special environment like Celtic, to experience the atmosphere at Celtic Park week by week and to represent this club in one of the biggest derbies in the world is something I will always be thankful for.
“At the same time, there were moments and decisions that I would have preferred to be handled differently, both on and off the pitch.
“Nevertheless, I always gave everything I had and tried to help the team whenever I had the chance.
“A big thank you to all the fans, my teammates and the staff members. I always felt loved and respected by all of you and I will always be grateful for that.
“I wish everyone at the club all the best and every success in the future.”

So typical of Nawrocki’s time at the club, his last competitive appearance was in an emphatic 5-1 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on May 14 2025, a win in which he scored the opening goal.
However, he didn’t even make the squad for the Scottish Cup Final against the Dons 10 days later when the Hoops lost on penalty-kicks.
Nawrocki is the fourth permanent exit from the champions this summer, following Luis Palma (Lech Poznan), Stephen Welsh (Swansea City) and Hayato Inamura (Tokyo FC).
