Neil Lennon unlikely to have a case to answer

898

The SFA are entitled to ask Neil Lennon to explain his conduct at Ibrox on Sunday but I doubt he has a case to answer.  Neil accepted a warning during the first half from fourth official, Iain Brines, for contesting the decision to send off Cha Du-Ri, Brines did not regard this protest as sufficient to call the over referee.  Neil then spoke to referee Calum Murray at the end of the first half without incident or caution.

Murray clearly did not regard Lennon’s comments as worthy of dismissal from the technical area at that time and was did not call Neil to the referees’ room during the interval.  It was left to fourth official Iain Brines to deliver the news to the Celtic manager that he was ordered from the technical area.

Murray and Brines appear to have let the occasion get the better of them.  A referee must be clear in his mind before ordering a manager from the technical area and must take the correct steps necessary in doing so.  He cannot mutter a statement of intent to caution a manager without actually doing so.

Must be the bright light that’s attracting them. Although as creatures of the night, I would have thought that over exposure would have repelled them.

Your not wrong there. Over the years Paul67 through this site with the help of many a CQN member have made this place a legendry Celtic community.

  10. When I were a lad I would sometimes go to Morton games with my mates. At Love Street I saw ex Celt Andy Ritchie score a corner with the OUTSIDE of his right foot into the near post. Incredible.

GK for St Mirren? Silly Billy Thomson.

I see the “gang of ten” are still treating league reconstruction as a zero-sum game where their main (only?) objective is to grab as much of Celtic’s money as possible, with alternating threats and heavy-handed hints that they might be favourably disposed towards a Rangers NewCo if the huns play ball.

With people like John Yorkston running the diddy clubs, we shouldn’t be surprised at their lack of ambition or vision, nor at the highly aggressive stance they have taken against Celtic in particular.

I really hope Celtic and Rangers call their bluff on resigning from the SPL. There would immediately be a queue of 30 other clubs lining up to replace them.

Ross County, Dundee, Falkirk, Hamilton, Livingston, Morton, etc. are not significantly less credible opposition than most existing SPL clubs. (thumbsup)

Yeah, that’s us. Forth place. Michael comes down to the games with his son Ross ( he lives near Carnoustie ). He’s planning on getting season books next year.

Did you pal with him at school? the fact you know where we stayed ( my mum’s still there ), would suggest you knew him well.
