Neil Lennon unlikely to have a case to answer

898

The SFA are entitled to ask Neil Lennon to explain his conduct at Ibrox on Sunday but I doubt he has a case to answer.  Neil accepted a warning during the first half from fourth official, Iain Brines, for contesting the decision to send off Cha Du-Ri, Brines did not regard this protest as sufficient to call the over referee.  Neil then spoke to referee Calum Murray at the end of the first half without incident or caution.

Murray clearly did not regard Lennon’s comments as worthy of dismissal from the technical area at that time and was did not call Neil to the referees’ room during the interval.  It was left to fourth official Iain Brines to deliver the news to the Celtic manager that he was ordered from the technical area.

Murray and Brines appear to have let the occasion get the better of them.  A referee must be clear in his mind before ordering a manager from the technical area and must take the correct steps necessary in doing so.  He cannot mutter a statement of intent to caution a manager without actually doing so.

    BRTH, another great post.

Some of the things the Scottish MIBs get up to are hard to Adam and Eve.

  3. Clear winner at the moment but extremely close for the runner up spot (bit like Motherwell and the huns!)

I think you’ve done disservice to all the posters on this blog with your sweeping gereralisation.

Let me say right of that I agree with you that Celtic were never going to be allowed to win on Sunday as a Celtic win would have been too much for the tax-dodgers support to accept and God knows what carnage would have followed, I was genuinely concerned for the players/managers/supporters.

But to suggest we blindly follow everything Neil Lennon does and says without question is not the Celtic way. If he makes a mistake, and I believe he has not prepared the team for the last two matches, then he deserves to be criticised.

Now there may be mitigating circumstances with the funeral of Paul McBride and the on-going court case and I’m sure Neil Lennon, being the honest man that he is, would be the first to accept these were two poor performances and require analysis and should there be some justifiable critical comment, then I’m sure he would accept it.

Just look at Rangers to see the consequences of unquestioning loyalty.

  6. Questions:

    1) What’s new Roberto Rosetti’s new post?

    2) What’s new Pierluigi Collina’a new post?

After much thinking, POTY Charlie (different positions, creates goals, scores goals all from being a defender) It’s a no brainer.

2nd Broony. Anyone who slags off this guy has never kicked a ball in their life. Every team needs his type, and if we had another 3 of him in the mid on Sunday we wouldn’t have been talking about that DOB Murray.

YPOTY JF. A lot to learn and I believe he will. A very decent player who could become a very very very decent player.

  8. Listen i managed Junior clubs and in one game when we had an outside chance of winning top league We werent a fashionable club and the league officials continually trying to derail us but we kept on going

    But the point is:::

One midweek game a young ref who i had never seen turned up

On offering my hand he looked at me with distaste and said your (2nd name) i said yea and he said “ive heard of you i will be watching you” As the 2 teams were warming up he approached me and asked me identify 3/4 of my players When i asked him why he said ” i’m gonna get them tonite”

Anyway needless to say we lost game with dodgy decisions throughout

That ref i later learned was one Shug Dallas a cheat then and a cheat always and although gone his proteges are still there Murray Brines and Gollum they owe where they are to him His bitter legacy lives on

Bakhsh Group are a front for Peter Lim —— a Singapore based real thing off the radar money man .

He supports Man Utd. He was interested in buying Liverpool but withdrew his bid . He is good at making money. He is very fond of long term investments . Buys cheap and is prepared to wait 10 plus years to collect his profit . If it is true that he is interested in Bankrupt FC then I assume he thinks he can make a profit somehow /sometime .

Paul – Any chance of an article this week highlighting Motherwell’s shocking record against Rankers since the Mullet took over, especially compared to his record against Celtic, Hearts , etc.

One for the statos – points/goals/fouls/yellows/reds.

On Sunday Rangers stood to lose four games in a row for the first time in there history.Celtic had the chance to win the SPL title at Ibrokes but the establishment were never going to let it happen. We were blatantly cheated by the match officials and it was stage managed that Fat Sleekit Ally being the manager and sportsman that all football fans love would position himself where he could be seen by the cameras and offer to shake every Celtic player by the hand.We Celtic supporters must give Neil Lennon 100% support the establishment want to make an example of him and are looking to get him to walk away we must raise the subject of the cheating at every opportunity and stand up for Neil and Celtic.H.H.

  15. From that top quality publication, ‘The Scottish Sun’ :

” Prove you said SFA then Neil ”

As I understand the legal system, it is up the other party to prove guilt.

Of course, those witnesses from that other great bastion of honour and integrity, currently in administration, will provide the truth, the whole truth, and nothing like the truth.

In just about any other country in the free world, Brines would be ‘had up’ for harassment.

Yes, I believe NL is going to have to wear recording equipment to provide evidence of the abuse being directed at him.

There’s another point, Mr Scottish Sun, can Mr Brines prove that he said SFA to NL?

Oh, I forgot, he is another of the untouchables.
