And we’re back! What a two days of systems nightmare. We went down at 7pm on Thursday. No conclusive information on why, we have had traffic volume related outages before, but this was on a more serious and persistent basis. We had to move the database to a new location and restore from backup to recover, we lost a few days articles. Better not speak to me about Fasthosts for a while.
We got access to the databases this morning and took the opportunity to upgrade facilities in the background. We’re on a new incarnation of WordPress and now have Facebook and Twitter integration. Good news is you can link your Celtic Quick News account with your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, and share information from CQN to your social network timeline.
To do so:
Login to Celtic Quick News.
Cick on your name at the top of the Comments box to access your profile.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to access the Facebook and Twitter links.
Update your profile.
You will then see a Share link beside your comments.
Should we be Celtic Slow News for today? Here it is:
Rennes 1-1 Celtic.
Hugely important second half performance and Joe Ledley goal.
Your favourite billionaire is getting divorced and has claimed he has no money! Oh dear.
One year on, the SFA are still smoking out religiously offensive correspondents!
The Berlin Wall fell and I hear Elvis is dead.
Have a try at the Facebook and Twitter links and let me know what you think of it. I’m off for a break but will catch up later.
Most importantly, there is a Celtic fan called Andrew who will be walking about Belfast in a daze this weekend. If you see him, but him a beer.

I think the board will have to weigh up things very carefully.
There is every chance that we will win the league for the next few years if the hun are out of the picture.
Hence more chance of CL riches.
How many will walk away if the board help them out, and it will be through a vote, so there will be no hiding for the board, they have to think this one out VERY carefully.
The Exiled Tim,
Thanks. It’s very good to be here

Just what will the alimony cost us?
Thing I couldn’t understand from the progamme on Thursday was the bit where the Insolvency expert said Whyte had been running a company while banned. Why did the reporter not ask the obvious question ‘why didn’t you go after him?’
I think this is the section that Whyte might feel he can sue the BBC. On the other hand could this all backfire on him with his dodgy history explored in open court?
Must admit I can’t make much sense out of all this. Just what is the chancer up to? (I long for liquidation but wont happen)

Marty, as I said earlier I thought he had an outstanding 2nd half but what I thought curious was that he did not even dive to try to get to the ball…it is allowed for goalies after all. And as for Cha’s grinning….well, that really hacked me off
Anyone know what Paul67 meant by “One year on, the SFA are still smoking out religiously offensive correspondents!”?
What have I missed?

Seldom post, but addicted lurker, and i have been scratching

well done Paul and all those invoved with getting the best
Celtic forum back on line.
H.H
I see Jordan Rhodes,of Huddersfield, has scored two more goals today by half time.I hope we are keeping an eye on this young player.Slan
Just testing.
Back to lurking.

I have spoken to the fasthosts owner, a Mr C Whyte. I asked him why the delay and he said ” I’m not telling you, right”
Seriously, if you have not seen this interview – you must check it out. Got to be the worst question and ‘answer’ session ever conducted. Amateur questions and infantile answers.
Hamiltontim
Great mate.
Really struggling here to post and keep up with everyone elses posts :)
Anyone would think we’d missed CQN.
quonno. We are both seeking to tell the future. You are assuming that Rangers only go into administration and my statement assumes they will be liquidated. Either or neither might happen.
Welcome back Paul
And just in time too.
Things had got so bad since the blog went down than people from Blantyre and Wishaw were actually having to phone and text each other.
THE EXILED TIM
It is a no brainer.
Having firmly (pardon the pun) allied us to them at every turn, the Celtic Board will do all in its power to keep them afloat.

Keep the Faith!

I haven’t seen anything relating to this, but sure as eggs are eggs, Paul knows something :>))))
jimmci
yeah must admit, Cha’s wide grin didn’t exactly quell my anger at the time
Thank god you are back. Down in sunny Coventry for a few days and I cant get no CQN! Terrible
Back up the road at 9am tomorrow morning to ensure that we get to the most important game of the season (so far)
Thanks Paul for an excellent service. Look forward to browsing later tonight, probably during X Factor!
well done Andrew
Good to see you back Paul67
My fav bit amongst many;
Scotsman -Let’s look at this closely. They said you were disqualified as a company director. Is that true?
CW -I’m not comfortable getting into the specific allegations
In other words – YES
CQN Facebook page was also very quiet during the downtime, it’s always somewhere to post when the real CQN is down, and has nearly 300 CQN’rs
– if you want to join just ask from the Facebook page.
THE EXILED TIM
All very true. I’d be making my views clear to Celtic should Rangers get into that position.
Silver City Neil Lennon
And that is why for days now I have been posting against the Walter Mittys who allow themselves to be obsessed with Them rather than concentrate on our own failings.
Good to see CQN back, I was thinking of selling the computer. :-)
Hibs going goal crazy 4 days too soon?
quonno
Under normal circs. I would agree, but this aint normal circs.
If they go bust, and it’s still a big IF, the board have a decision to make, how many will walk away ?
Re the Rennes goal:
I think both Cha and Forster were culpable. There was no need for Cha to hit it as hard as he did especially as he was actually looking away when he made contact with the ball. Forster lacks agility. I’ve said since last season that rarely does he save anything that’s not within his immediate reach. There was no way he was saving it and even less chance of him turning, running and subsequently preventing it from crossing the line.

Welcome back hope you are on the mend, the forum needs
your clarity

Swanseabhoy,
Much better thanks. Should soon be back to what passes for normal in my little world.
Welcome back Paul67, well done that Andrew.
The missus was glad to have me back for a while :-) she even made my breakfast this morning.
Anyway, got around to watching the BBC programme on Mr Whytey last night as well, comedy gold as they say. Not sure why most of this was not brought up before now, it must have been accessible to somebody somewhere ?
Enough of them as well, glad to be going to game with my bhoy tomorrow, bring on the shee (dons). 3 points is all thats needed.

Given their track record in ignoring us, do you think that they will start listening now.
Horse napsters
Unfortunately there is no competition this week. The server problems added to another issue you won’t be aware of yet.
Fleagle, our main man, is in hospital in Dubai. Why? Well, it would be funny if it were not so serious. As he was rushing home to see the 2nd half of the Rennes match, he leapt over a 3 foot wall. Unfortunately, there was a 30 foot drop on the other side – on to a concrete ramp. He has badly injured himself and needs some sort of operation on his leg. He is out there himself so is a bit down to say the least.
We all wish him well I’m sure.

After years of neglect and downright abuse we have good grounds to divorce Desmond and his Smithersesque side kick Lawwell and get a good pay out from them, Id settle for £20m right now and £5m a year child support for all the kids Lawwell has left us looking after.
Seems fair to me.

Lennybhoy,
Will have an idea when I see the consultant on Monday. Hoping to be out of hospital mext week.
Paddysmarket,
Many thanks.

The acrimony between AJ & Bain, Lloyds bank and Craig Whyte has been wonderful entertainment, this menage a trois has now become a soap opera
AJ and bain used ole uncle Wattie as a weapon which they regularly fired at Lloyds Bank
Llyods bank must have enjoyed telling AJ get the deal done after all the crap Lloyds had taken from the Rankers board
War has now broken out between the ole board and Whyte in what can only be described as hatred amongst their own, cant wait for the next episode of this parody of a soap opera
I was posting a couple of nostalgic links when ‘poof’!
Anyway, back ensconced in Sharkeys and Sheila has been awarded my spare season card for the game the morra. She may have overheard me saying that I was going to offer it on here and sabotaged the site :-)
Oh aye, the nostalgic links (internet thingys not McKellar Watt’s sausages)
So …..Remember Helicopter Thursday? I remember what I thought, What Happened?
And a wee bit of nostalgic muscle stretching to pick up Celtic Games while up mountains, down glens and stretching out of windows with a bent coathanger for an aerial.Illegal Internet feeds
Hail Hail

Yeee haaaaaaaaa
Things learned while CQN was down
Best thing since sliced bread ?
That’s right ADMINISTRATION
Perfectly legal and reasonable business plan.
Don’t know why rest of the bankrupt teams in our league insist on trying to pay there way out of financial trouble .
Ragers, yet again leading the way.
At one time Tom English could smell the money as he passed ibrox.
I wonder if his super senses are picking up the waft of sh@#e now.
hamiltontim
cant agree on Cha, to me not a hard hit pass back plus it was slightly angled to the keepers stronger foot, keeper in no mans land should have been on the penalty spot this is where Cha would have expected him to be.
