The absence of suspended Mikael Lustig on Sunday might convince Brendan Rodgers to go with a back three of Ajer, Compper and Simunovic, with Kieran Tierney and James Forrest playing wingback rolls. With Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and Moussa Dembele certain to start, and Tom Rogic looking very likely, Brendan Rodgers’ options begin to look straightforward.
He will pair any two from Scott Sinclair, Odsonne Edouard, Eboue Kouassi and Callum McGregor. Games against Newco seem to bring out the best in Scott and Callum, but both have missed out on selection recently. I understand the call for Odsonne to partner Moussa up front, but, given a choice, I would rather see us control midfield than worry too much about the top of the pitch.
The Ibrox surface suits Callum McGregor’s playmaking ability. Have him in there pulling the strings.

Wish we had played that PSG!
Alves looks past it. Marquihos ball-watching at first goal.
Emery out of his depth at this level. And out of a job soon.
Should probably get in touch with Garry Monk’s agent!

” Also more attention needs to be given to off the ball movement.”
That’s it in a nutshell for me, we look quite lost at times, not a slight on the coaches or the players, the players are as good as they are and the coaches find it hard to make silk purses etc, we are where we are, had a heated discussion with a brit in the village last week, he is scathing of anything not english, I would say he is as thick as shit but, well he is, anyways, he is of the opinion that we are pish cos we are champions and we get knocked out of the CL pdq, I tried to point out we are skint in a relative kinda way, as I said he is thick, this is what we are up against, Sky push the agenda, they all push it, if it were the hun where we are, it would be all hunky dory and a bed of roses, God they are a hurtin :-)

He had an incredible ability to put words together in such a way that you wished with all your heart that you had done it first.
I noticed last year (or possibly the year before) that Ard Macha hadn’t posted on March 1st. I messaged him and he said that he didn’t think it appropriate as he rarely posts anymore. I asked if he’d be ok with me continuing the tradition and he was delighted.
Off Topic I know, but given the recent reports on team sky, Dave Brailsford and Bradley Wiggins – here is a rather long article I wrote a few years ago which said quite a lot at the time and is still relevant today.

Real Madrid players instinctively know when the big moments in ties arrive and how to do it when it really counts. I always enjoy a smart performance, especially a disciplined defensive one against any team that’s hailed as the latest last word on excellence.
Got it :-))

If anyone is looking for a dog, a Proper dog, please take a shifty at our FB page, we have a fair few that need good homes, we have a top quality Mastin bitch, she is about 9 months, massive, nearly 80cm at her shoulders and as good a temprement as it gets, she is so laid back it’s unreal, she eats like feck tho, I would say she is in the Mastin starter kit kinda thing, a better dog you wouldn’t get, her markings are beautiful, we have called her Lourdes, had I the inclination I would enter her for Scruffs, she would walk it imo, the rest we have are fine but this wan is special, have a look see, a page like would be appreciated.
We have sent dogs all over the world btw, we have one on his way to New Zealand next week, that is our farthest yet, I doubt we could get any further mind you :-)

DALLAS DALLAS WHERE THE HECK IS DALLAS on 6TH MARCH 2018 10:24 PM
Former Celtic centre half , John Kurila , passed away today aged 76. John, like Billy McNeill , was of Lithuanian descent .
*and John Jack aka Jonas Kaduskeviechi another blonde heided centre half.
John K was much loved by the Jungle who named him the Gorilla he was a successful reserve where he was captain, winning three 2nd XI Championship medals and a reserve league cup medal but just couldn’t make the move tae the first team although having first of all Bobby Evans and then big Billy there didnae help his cause.
We were blessed with young centre halfs back then having big Frank McCarron, John McNamee and big Cush. Oh for any one of them this Sunday.
.
Never thought I’d be cheering for Real in the Champions league
RIP john Kurila
You will be remembered

His suffering.

RIP John Kurila.Like Tontime Tim I saw him a couple of times.Bobby Evans was a converted right half so presumably the Board in those days didn’t sign a CH just moved somebody over one position in the team :) Cheapskates even then! Saved raiding the biscuit tin :)
John Kurila RIP
Very down after hearing that news.
I’m not a h## no way.
Love this blog, and everybody on it.
God Bless, each and everyone of you.
Especially, Mr Paul67, brother Walfrid would be well proud of you and, all the absolutely, amazingly wonderful things that has been produced, and made possible, by your innovative selflessness, your as bright as the stars in the darkened sky, and the leadership and, community that you have created here is, beyond the dreams of the Celtic supporter’s who were around at the time of, Celtic FC’s inception. This is just a place of magic, with doors open to all, wonderful. You could never be thanked enough, Paul67, and even then, you would not accept the thanks, but give it to the folk who you open your blog to. Just a wonderful place, thank you ever so much. Hail Hail.
Wolfetonewildernessbhoy
What a wonderfully humbling debut post.
God bless you too.
Welcome
Saddened to hear of the death of John Kurila . A fine footballer (goalkeeper at school) who graced Celtic Park and prior to his senior career the school fields of Glasgow. I’m reminded each time I look at an old U15 photo of John and his team mates (including the great Charlie G. at Parkhead in 1956 V’s St Mungos. May he rest in peace.
Good morning, friends.
I see that PRS’g reward for spending all those Zillions of pounds was to go just 1 round further than Celtic. Hmmmmmmmm.
4 more sleeps ;-)
That’s French pounds, obviously. D’oh! ;-)
Euros even Jobo, could’nt have happened to a nicer team. HH Hebcelt
Imagine Celtic had spent E1.2billion over eight years and in that time had never made it further than the CL QFs.
I think that it is time to show the new wee sevco team just how far away from them we are in every respect. I think this is going to be a huniliation of them at pound land. Hammer them at 1£Bronx and even their most rabid would be hard put to stay delusional. Player for player we are better in every position. This is the one our bhoys need to get really hungry for. Can’t wait fir this one.

TONTINE TIM,
Yes, we were blessed with centre halfs then. I vaguely remember John Kurila RIP, but I well remember John McNamee and John Cushley RIP. Bobby Evans and King Billy were just too good.

Sorry wasn’t me
Was Mr O from Cowie ?
A very influential Celt:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-43279596
Growing up in Glasgow, and privately schooled at Hutcheson’s Grammar, Kevin developed an “obsessive” support for Celtic football club.
He told McKinsey’s website: “Today, even though I’ve lived all over the world, my outlook remains rooted in Scotland and Scottish community values.
“I also developed a passion for Glasgow Celtic Football Club, travelling to away matches with Celtic fans and seeing the world through their eyes. Their lives were very much oriented around the football team.
“It gave me a sense of what it means to be part of a group that’s passionately committed to something beyond work.”
JOHN KURILA RIP .
2 memories —
He played well in a 1 -2 loss v the Deady Bears in the autumn of 1960 .
He played badly ( but not as badly as the Goalie ) in a 1-5 loss (the week after the above ) v the Deady Bears in the autumn 1960 .
Other thing I remember from that time was that my old man was listening to a lot of Horace Parlan and therefore I was too . Meanwhile my mother and my big sis were Shaking All Over- to the sound of Johnny Kidd and The Pirates .-
