  1. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    BRRB – Lol.

Surely the Led Zeppelin shirt does not shrink to fit inferior etc?

    :)

    JC2 – Lol.

    CQN is brilliant.

Cannot think of a single time when I have viewed this blog and the content didn’t raise at least one smile.

    Hail hail

  2. MELBOURNE MICK on 17TH JULY 2020 6:40 AM

    …….

I was up and awake around my usual time of 5am…Mugs of Tea and…Fags to start my day.

Ive worn oot all your auld dancing Girls…some time ago !

    LOL

I didnt know what to expect from Celtic last night, with being our 1st game etc, and I am sure that I read on here a few days ago that French Clubs were maybe 4/5 weeks ahead of us in Fitness etc ?

I placed a small bet with a Correct Score for Celtic to win of course…but I also placed another small wager of a 2-2 Draw…both got beat obviously LOL.

Overall, not too bad a performance, but Big Eddie looked “Rusty” along with some others which you would expect ? He snatched at his misplaced header and his attempt at a volley in the 1st half.

The VAR decision was a complete joke….NOT ONE of the Nice players claimed for Offside against Eddie…and they didnt look to argue with the Ref either…I enjoyed Michael Stewarts vocal contribution, and as he pointed out the Ball was clearly played by a Nice defender before Eddie Bhoy latched onto it !

Does VAR stand for…” Very Average Referring” ?

    HH

  3. No idea how we manage it.Winning.Boli,hopeless,bomb scare.Julien, can’t see what people see in him.Taylor, not good enough.Broony, legs have gone.Biton, see Big Wavy.Forrest, not for me.Klimala,Soro, projects, need better.

And thats only from on here.

  4. The match that Jozo was ordered off in last season was against St. Galen. The incident was mentioned in the referee’s match report so the SFA “felt obliged” to suspend him for our first two league games.

  5. ……..lol……….

There’s a fair few low-flyin’ Zeppelins around post lockdown.

    :)))))))))))))

  6. TIMBHOY2 @ 10:04 AM,

“Is Shved still at the Club, and what position does young Welsh play I think there is a player there,”

Not sure on the official status of our one thousandth winger but he’s for the off, if we can’t sell him then a loan. Talk of him going to Hungary.

Stephen Welsh looks a handy big unit, he plays Centre Half and on occasion Right Back.

If we don’t get a CH in this window he will most certainly get a chance this season.

On the James Forrest front. It looked to me that him and Ely were asked to play further in, like a three man attack… 4-3-3 stylee.

This gavd the wingbacks more room outwide, it was effective for the first 30 mins or so but we looked flat up front and Nice were counter attacking behind the wing backs.

It’s always worth trying these things but I didn’t think it particularly suited any of five players involved, nor Ryan.

Still it proved that Frimpong has pace to burn and can put in a tackle.

    Hail Hail

  7. in ither news………..

some hun-lite Meenister calls for an SFA “probe” when his team gets relegated………

Where was he when the the full fat huns were liquidated and miraculously rekonstituted as if by magik…….

Is anyone paying attention to the guff that’s being pedalled?

  8. It’ll be interesting to see if that wee Kent….does get banned for the start of the season.

They have very few players that are important to them but he’s one of them.

Doubtless socially-distant goat bothering will be employed to influence the decision.

  9. Keep reading about Edouard not off side and VAR decision incorrect, I might be incorrect (usually am) but I thought the goal got chopped off due to the Christie follow through on the Nice player, others have mentioned it should not be offside as the French player hit it last … then Christie (unintentionally) clattered into the boy obviously not touching the ball was the infringement ??

Main thing for Neil = fitness and no injuries

Good to be back posting about the Hoops on a fitba park :-)

  10. TIMBHOY2 on 17TH JULY 2020 9:48 AM

Totally agree with you. First game and that being a friendly everyone take such games as an opportunity to get rid of the cobwebs.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  11. IIRC, the Swiss FA reported the red card to the SFA and therefore they had to take action. It will be interesting to see if the French FA do likewise.

  12. !!Bada Bing!! on

Great to have the football back,90 minutes of the first friendly, and the team who romped to 9 IAR.totally dismantled on here

  13. Rock Tree Bhoy on

whilst having a quick scan of the the back pages of the papers had to check the front pages just to make sure that Leigh Griffiths hadn’t actually murdered somebody, my goodness, surely the boy must have some credit in the bank for what he has done for us during the march to nine in a row, he’s getting hammered for not being as fit as the rest of the squad, the gallows are being erected as we speak, absolute joke.

  14. Thought Forrest looked off the pace….

But who cares? This game is to get him up to speed. Not to judge his performance!

I don’t care about anything until we play Accies on the 2nd of August.

  15. Big Jimmy 11.34am

Neither did I, only the ref will know what VAR told him, the linesman certainly didn’t raise his flag, again I only posted it “could” have been the follow through by Christie, my understanding of VAR is every goal is checked in the immediate lead up to a goal … only mentioning it as many us of thought Odsonne was onside… enjoy your pints today with David66 & BRRB

  16. GFTB

Ref indicated indirect free kick (arm raised) for offside – if it had been for clattering the player, it would have been a direct fire kick i.e. no arm raised.

From what Lenny was saying, they (officials) said the ball ‘deflected’ off the defender form Christie and so awarded the offside. Personally thought it was the result of a tackle by Nice defender so although Eddie was in an offside position, the ball was played to him by an opposition player so onside.

All a matter of opinion I suppose. Glad there was no VAR when I was a ref – how many of my mistakes would they have picked up !

  17. Embramike 11.47am

Cheers … I certainly didn’t see the ref’s actions when awarding the foul… by the way am not fussed at all about the decision … that will change when the actual season kicks off :-)
