‘NO APPROACH FOR ARMSTRONG’, UNITED

DUNDEE UNITED have insisted no approach has been made for Stuart Armstrong by Celtic, despite suggestions talks had started between the clubs over a January switch.

Reports claimed the Tannadice club had been contacted by the champions with a view to signing him in this month’s transfer window.

But United stressed that there has been no bid for the player from the Parkhead club “or anyone else”.

Expectations remain, however, that Celtic will make a formal move before the window closes after capturing fellow-United star Gary Mackay-Steven on a pre-contract agreement last week.
