As a rule, I don’t like managers complaining about the pitch, the weather (Barbara is blowing in Hamilton right now), the ball or anything else prior to a game. Experience suggests if you give players an excuse to underperform, they’ll grab it with both hands.
The pitch at the Superseal (save us) Stadium Hamilton is more than adequate for a football match, let’s get on with it.
After a run of solid results Accies came off the rails in the last two games, losing narrowly to the top two: 1-0 away to Celtic then 1-2 to Newco in Hamilton. These are not the games which are important for Hamilton but losing twice by a single goal will sting. Barricades will be reinforced for Celtic tomorrow.
Brendan Rodgers has managed his squad subliminally well this month, resting players throughout but still putting a team on the field to win all, apart from the 1-1 away in the Champions League. He’ll know that anything less than 100% tomorrow brings the real risk of dropped points, so I’m far from sure he’ll be in the mood to rest anyone.
It’s been a couple of weeks since we saw images of Kieran Tierney back training. When he went through his operation we were told it would be January before we’d see him back, but he’s a fit lad, I wonder if he’ll be ready for 20 minutes on the magnificently smooth Lanarkshire surface.

Brexit – where the UK grew a pair
Indi ref – where Scotland bottled it
expectingflakCSC
Bottled it? Why because I didn’t vote for a free Scotland that came with a Union Jack and a sovereignty? You havin a laugh, snp, plastic jocks.
Give me a Scottish Republican Party if you want to play big boys games, know your history ffs.
Scotland on its Owen nothing else, no Jack, no sovereignty, yer never gonny see it, well no in ma time anyway.
Good Afternoon.
I’m not a fan of grumbling about the pitch either. Accept the challenge it presents and plan accordingly.
Meanwhile, in case of interest, here are my latest offerings:

Brendan has squad-management down to a T so far. He’ll do what is needed over the next few matches with the winter break very much in mind.
No predictions though. Wish my New Year resolutions lasted as long as my new season resolution has!

you aint lived til you experience a blow from Barbara in Hamilton
I hope you can back up your scurrilous comments about Barbara, Paul67…
What is Norl?
Anyhoo…I agree with BR, most matches played on plastic are awful.
I was never very good at Subbuteo…
Today’s number is 4, and the letter is W
FL- more chance of game being off than on IMO, will be interesting to see if Motherwell game is on tonight.
Weather more suited for Seals than superseals me thinks.
Hmmmm…
Who would be more inconvenienced by a match played on a plastic pitch in storm conditions?

Do you know Barbara? por cierto
This will test crumbledome.
Weather forecast for tomorrow ( In both Hamilton and Glasgow) is for a 40-42 mph blast at 12 noon then a mere zephyr of 16-18 mph for the duration of the matches.

Broony mugging of the Ibrox roof
I posted this on the end of the previous thread, so apologies for the repost. Heartfelt thanks to those who have already Can I convey my deepest sympathies to all of those recently bereaved. It is a difficult time of the year to face such grief. Remember the gift of knowing, and sharing the life, of the people you loved.
I wrote a few months ago about my shock of learning a very close friend was starting a battle with cancer. I was best man at Dougie’s wedding 25 years ago. His wife is Irish, and the wedding was held in Mullingar, and the honeymoon (which I joined the couple on) was in Dingle. That week is one of my happiest memories i have in my life.
Sad to say that happiness has been matched by my shock to hear the news that Dougie’s chemo has been unsuccessful, the cancer has spread, and his depressing prognosis is that he has 6 months at best to live, and possibly only 3.
Could I ask that any CQNers who have a strong faith could perhaps add my great friend to their prayers. His wife, his teenage daughter and son do not deserve this news, especially at such a time. Dougie is only 53 years old.
Best wishes to everyone over Christmas, and I hope everyone has a positive new year.
If structural engineers have carried out a report ( Wolfgang Hunter?) on the Ibrox roof and deemed that any remedial action is required, it is almost certain that there will be provisions for adverse weather until such time as the remedials have been completed. Normally weather warnings for high winds are the trigger.

100% agree Tony. No sovereign; our own currency; and no financial control from London or Brussels!
