As a rule, I don’t like managers complaining about the pitch, the weather (Barbara is blowing in Hamilton right now), the ball or anything else prior to a game. Experience suggests if you give players an excuse to underperform, they’ll grab it with both hands.
The pitch at the Superseal (save us) Stadium Hamilton is more than adequate for a football match, let’s get on with it.
After a run of solid results Accies came off the rails in the last two games, losing narrowly to the top two: 1-0 away to Celtic then 1-2 to Newco in Hamilton. These are not the games which are important for Hamilton but losing twice by a single goal will sting. Barricades will be reinforced for Celtic tomorrow.
Brendan Rodgers has managed his squad subliminally well this month, resting players throughout but still putting a team on the field to win all, apart from the 1-1 away in the Champions League. He’ll know that anything less than 100% tomorrow brings the real risk of dropped points, so I’m far from sure he’ll be in the mood to rest anyone.
It’s been a couple of weeks since we saw images of Kieran Tierney back training. When he went through his operation we were told it would be January before we’d see him back, but he’s a fit lad, I wonder if he’ll be ready for 20 minutes on the magnificently smooth Lanarkshire surface.

On Project Brave
Tony D…,
I still don’t see how you could have deduced that “the Gang of Four” had asked the Plc to make accusations of criminal fraud, I said I MIGHT, on my own, nothing about asking or expecting the Plc to do so.
The second post I thought may help you understand such a strategy was never even considered, you appear to have missedthe points addressing it. There is only one strategy available to the Plc to remain id the SFA grant a license to rangers who were a high profile Plc in financial distress.I thin the parameters of UEFA’s rules, if they want justice and protect the shareholders interests that is.
V…. etc. So you’ve been to ‘uni’. I hope it wasn’t economics you did. If it was, sue the teachers. I won’t deal with your manifesto seriatim but you really should consider this:
1. A independent Scottish currency would be an unmitigated DISASTER.
2. YOU WANT AN ECONOMY INDEPENDENT OF OIL. DO YOU READ THE NEWS? WE’VE GOT THAT ALREADY. THE NORTH SEA AS A MAJOR OIL PRODUCER IS FINISHED, DEAD, KAPUT.
3. You want a socialist budget. So what is that? A bright boy like you who has been to ‘uni’ ought to be able to elaborate.
You may have gathered I’m no Nat – the reason being that independence will inflict more poverty on those who are already poor and on a scale we can’t yet imagine. And I don’t think the Nats will shed a single tear.
An awkward duet…..

Well who knows what happened there, I’ll try again on the second point
The second post I thought may help you understand such a strategy was never even considered, you appear to have missedthe points addressing it. There is only one strategy available to the Plc to remain within the parameters of UEFA’s rules, that’s why res12 specified that route, if they want justice and protect the shareholders interests that is.

It’s an Old Firm thing.
All adds to the ‘atmosphere’.
Looks like the GB and the Board are in agreement on one matter at least.
Lets just hope the stabbings etc are kept to a minimum.
Doc & Paddybhoy not been on the blog, hope you and your families get through this sad time and the tears of sadness will soon be replaced with tears of joy, remembering the good times, Doc even reading a few posts on here am sure your dad has left you with many Celtic memories and stories that will never leave you…….

Will be riveting then. Talking about rivets….
“Southampton value their highly-prized Dutch centre-back Virgil Van Dijk at £60 million, a potential world record fee for a defender and the club are confident they are in position to reject lower offers from Manchester City or Everton next month.
The hierarchy at Southampton secured Van Dijk, 25, on a six-year contract in May worth £70,000 a week, making him the club’s highest earner, in anticipation of growing interest in the forthcoming transfer window. Manchester City are understood to be ready to pay around £50 million, the same amount that Paris St-Germain paid Chelsea for David Luiz in 2014.”

Woo hoo, no work for >100 hours. I’ll kick off FRiday evening with a coffee and work my way down to the depths of depravity, supplemented with some scrolling back, a goal fest from wonderful Fir Park , a 8pm-ish Christmas Pizza* and eventually some music.
Life’s good!

Quiet day on the blog so thought I would share a few thoughts, thanks to my former apprentice who runs the local supporters bus for accessing tickets for me to attend the last two home games.
In my opinion Michael Lustig showed v Thistle he is no centre half , I would rather see O’Connell or Ajer given a try out if Jozo or Erik are injured or rested, in a big game Kolo would obviously play but we know what he can do.
Re Moussa being of the boil , it is not all about scoring (but it helps) but holding up the ball to bring midfielders and wingers into the game and he does that better than Leigh . Though when Rogic is injured I think Griff could play in that role. I thought our Oz wizard was superb in first half v Dundee and felt we lacked a bit of guile when he went off. HH

you need to get over to TO to try Descendant Detroit style pizza …. I love pizza, and gnerally prefer thick crust to thin crust … but really, I love it all ….I’ve been to italy and tried their thin crust pizza … very good …. and chicago, and tried all of the places that claimed to have invented deep dish … also pretty good…
but the Detroit style pizza at Descendant … best pizza ever! you make it to TO, and I’ll even treat!
But for now I make do with Asda’s own, 13 minutes from freezer to oven – the perfect half time TV football dinner ;-)
Just back from the pavilion watching Elfie with two of the grandweans, away to read back:-)))

Salient supporting.
A) I agree on Lustig and Dembele. Mikel at 30 plus will be doing well to secure future games as Celtic RB. His appearances at CB have been opined, but we only get away with it in ‘lesser’ games. IMHO
B) Dembele is a different ‘dynamic’ ( © Brendan) to Griffiths he holds the ball up better IMHO
coo’s ar**s and banjos at the moment are different.
C) Tom Rogic is ‘the wizard of oz’ and really requires to be fit for Ross County then a cameo at the Debt Dome.
Just my tuppence CSC
agree with previous that ML in my opinion is not a centre back more so on a kid on grass park, would much rather see a development centre back given a chance.
papa agree about md – next game could be a hat-trick, he does loads unseen
Disagree on ML, has shown previously he can play CH no problem, thoutht the problem last time was a partnership issue.
For once Auld Shuggie on Clyde talks complete sense in relation to fixtures over the festive period. He’s saying something I’ve repeated for years – for the 2 or 3 games over Christmas and New Year the fixtures should always be arranged to minimise travelling, regardless of the weather conditions. So we should have games against say Sevco, Motehrwell, Hamilton, Kilmarnock etc. Similar fixtures should involve Inverness, Ross County, Aberdeen, Dundee, etc etc.
How about these crackers over the coming week –
Tonight – Aberdeen fans travelling down to Motherwell with Partick having to visit Dingwall!
Tomorrow, Christmas Eve – Inverness down in Govan
Next midweek we have Hamilton up at Aberdeen, Ross County at our place, Motherwell at Inverness
Hogmanay – at least all of the fixtures are sensible.
We happen to be lucky this year having had 3 home games and now only having to go as far as Hamilton and Govan. But in recent years we’ve had much further to travel.
It’s not rocket salad you know!
Thought as well
Still pretty wild here in Hamilton
