No one offered Celtic job yet

1032

Roy Keane is due at a press conference in Dublin this afternoon and he is sure to be asked about Daily Mail reports this afternoon that he is set to be appointed Celtic manager as early as tomorrow.

It’s pretty clear Celtic have spoken to Keane but NO ONE HAS THE JOB YET, the Club are still speaking to a number of candidates.

We’re going to remain hostages to news reports for a while. The sooner things are sorted the better.

If you missed it earlier………

Lisbon Lion John Hughes is joining Brogan Rogan, Auldheid and Angela Haggerty for a CQN Question and Answer evening at the Manor Club, Wimbledon, on 21 June. The event is ticket only, so let me know if you would like to attend, celticquicknews@gmail.com

A Celtic team with no slackers and everyone flat out trying to impress the manager, love to se that, not sure how big Sammi would fit into such a system, maybe its best he’s away.

There is a green and white version of that as well, think it was a corporate thing, BP maybe. As to the Basque flag, could it have been Bilbao?

  3. Don’t know where this notion comes from that Roy would best scoddlands sleekit meeja fraternity…….

….In that respect he’s no Blessed Martin.

……………….IMO, very quickly Roy would be embroiled in various fabricated controversies shoved at him relentlessly – his appearances would for the hun – hacks be the ol’ firrum joust that they so miss – and they would win much, much more than they’d lose………..

……………they usually get the last word.

What’s best for Roy and us is that he stays close to Martin’s side with his ears open and his mouth closed.

If my memory serves it was Bilbao. The Basque flag used to fly one flag east of the tricolour.

    I’m kinda warming to the idea of Roy taking over if only for this scenario;

Gordon in charge of Scotland playing at Celtic Park, Martin in charge of Ireland also playing at Celtic Park, and Roy in charge of Celtic.

  7. Dont really want RK as manager.Yakin,Garcia,Laudrup, more to my taste, but thats my opinion. What I will say about RK,is,when he was managing Sunderland, his after match comments, were put across, with thought and in a manner that totally shocked me.Very pleasant, and seemed at ease.

To say he has done nothing as a manager,is a bit off.Took Sunderland from the depths of 1st Div,to promotion, and kept them there. Not an easy task. Not too sure many could have done it.

He has great stature in the game. When he talks, people listen.Would have great respect in the dressing room, and from other managers.

We could do a lot worse, but not a choice I would go for. Some getting a bit hysterical.

Not only did that make me smile but it also gave me a good idea for the inevitable come back every time I say , ” never again.”

    Thank you,

Am I the only one who, after reading Paul’s comments, thinks that Keane might be about to say he’s not taking the job although he has been offered it?

Or is it time for a pint?

  11. One aspect of human nature being what it is, I will only want Roy Keane as our manager if we don`t employ him.

Not only was Jock Stein our greatest manager, he could also play the MSM like a stradivarius.

Whoever takes over as manager could do worse than to read Archie McPhersons book on big jock and take some tips from it on how to control these muppets.

I see (yet) another name linked with us today. Dan Petrescu anyone?

A Northern Ireland politician has said she is to quit politics due to ongoing racist abuse.

Alliance Party member Anna Lo told the Guardian newspaper she would not seek re-election to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2016.

  20. Actually I think you guys are right, it might well have been Real Sociadad. I’ve got to get to bed, as always up early, but tomorrow I’ll pull out the books and see if I can’t find the answer, but I’m leaning towards Sociadad.

  21. PF –

Yep, and it takes control, inner confidence and intelligence to do that.

    Martin could do that.

Often he could intelligently fill 5 mins airtime and say absolutely nowt.
