Stefan Scepovic or Leigh Griffiths have a point to prove? A field in Zagreb will be available to them. Whoever plays, you can guarantee no one will ‘do a Regi’. Kids can ask their mum or dad about that one.

The only guy I’ve ever seen in the hoops completely bottle a tackle – away to Dinamo Zagreb late on in the game if I recall correctly.
Also put in the worst 45 mins I’ve ever seen against thems.

If I remember correctly it was on the half way line 60/40 challenge in his favour. I think the game was 1-0 at the time and ended up 3-0. He bottled it big time. It was the game turning point for me. I was disgusted. Never had any time for Regi after that. Derk reminds me of Regi.

It should be pointed out, had the bold reginald actually tried to win the ball, the keeper would have fouled him, keeper would have been sent off, and we possibly wouldn’t have been out on our arses. Pretty sure it was still 0-0 or 1-0 to Zagreb at the time. The travelling bhoys were trying to climb the fences at HT to convey their sentiments to olde reggie as he trooped off.

I think we got there in the end between us. The main point is that Regi may have cost us the tie. That’s how close the margins can be.
I was at Pittodrie sometime later and I think we lost 3-2 and Regi scored an OG. I remember a punter on our bus raging about blinker for half an hour. I was very calm about it which rankled the Bhoy. He asked me why and I recounted the bottled 50/50-70/30 and said he should not be playing for Celtic. It’s the managers fault he is even near the field of play. Maybe a bity harsh on Derk but I see similar attributes and if Ronny has left him out because he has no bottle I am 100% behind him on that one.

Talking of ‘doing Regi’, reminds me of a trip I took to New York in April 1999, when I managed to take in the Scottish Cup semi against Dundee Utd from the hospitable surroundings of the New York CSC,
I was baffled by the repeated shouts at the TV from some of the assembled throung to ‘give the ball to RegI. Give it to Regi.’
I had to check that I was, in fact, watching the game amongst fellow hoops fans.
I never did get to the bottom of it.
Perhaps Regi had been a recent guest of the club … ?

Discussed on the previous thread mate. One of the best players I have ever seen in the flesh. I seem to remember he had plasters on his ears. I think he must have had earrings in. He looked a bit daft but what a player!

I had £10 on Celtic for a correct score 5-1 v Dundee @100/1.
He came on as a very late sub and sclaffed/miss-hit a shot into the ground (sending GK wrong way) with minutes to go to make it 6-1.
Have never forgiven him. :-(
