No one will ‘do a Regi’

200

Heading away from home in Europe, to a team who looked pretty decent at Celtic Park, when we’ve already qualified and have left players at home to train, or avoid suspension, would under many circumstances be a toxic portent for Celtic.

We seldom travel well in group stage competition, nor when there is little at stake, but if we’ve learned anything about Ronny Deila it’s that he will let those who do play know what is expected of them.

Stefan Scepovic or Leigh Griffiths have a point to prove?  A field in Zagreb will be available to them.  Whoever plays, you can guarantee no one will ‘do a Regi’.  Kids can ask their mum or dad about that one.

No suspensions, no injuries, please, Celtic.

CQN Annuals are shipping!  If you pre-ordered it should be dropping through the letter box soon.  You can order yours here in time for Christmas, or you can order an incredible Annual-DVD bundle here, two stocking fillers in one hit.  Get ‘em while DVDs remain in stock!

  1. Maybe this frdge talk is relevant to the game. Will there be Celtic players freon the wing? Who will be the magnet for the ball? Will Scepovic keep his cool in front of goal?

I for one am hoping for some crisper passing than against Red Bull.

  2. Tonight’s team :

    !! Bada Bing!!

I have no wish to excuse the BBC but, from an audience point of view, the Hun ARE second only to us in pulling power. So, if our tie is on Sky, it makes sense. I think.

Along with The Asterisk Years, that’s the festive literature sorted.

Also interested to see how the guys play tonight – a lot of them have something to prove – tonight’s their big chance to shine .

Try and catch you over the festive period for a pint if you are around mate.

Mrs LB said she spotted you the other week in M&S but you were focused on the food shopping. She said you must get out for a pint soon with Mike. I’m not going to pass up her telling me to go for a pint!

  7. Td,

    Canny mind.

That was the first one I really took notice off.

I was a dolphins man. Greenish but much trendier than the jets. :)

  8. William Perry, was known in the States, as the Refrigerator more than the Fridge, he won one Superbowl with the Chicago Bears in 1985. That was the one and only time The Bears won the Superbowl.

  9. I don’t know TD. I think we are light in midfield, we could get overrun in that department. I’m not at all optimistic, hopefully I’m proved very wrong.

  10. I would play Tonev out wide before McGregor… other than that, its the team i called yesterday….. u might remember Corkcelt

McGregor is our top European scorer this season. I can see why Ronny has played him. Interesting line up.

    I will predict a 2-2 cracker.

  12. Big fridge seems to be doing o.k at Bronby… ive noticed he has started as their main striker this last couple of months… so much so, Pukki has dropped in to a midfield position.

  13. Corkcelt

I share your concern. Midfiled though always looks lightweight if Broonies not playing.

    Hope I’m wrong

Hope you are keeping well my friend.

I am still in Dundee until next Thursday.Watchung game in The Charlie Bar in Dundee tonight.

Can you tell me were you got your copy of The Asterisk years as i am looking for one for a friend of mine in Malta HH

  15. Yep ruggy, you called it correctly and I said the same thing as I’m saying now. If Kayal is not injured he must be definitely on his way out, if he can’t even make the bench with Charlie & Brooney out.

  16. LB

Anytime buddy – look forward to it. And thanks to Mrs LB for the pass, and for not reporting me to M&S Security :-)

  17. With Ronny’s favoured 4-2-3-1 looks like Johansen will drop in beside Bitton, in order to accomodate Commons in the attacking centre mid role.

  18. embramike

    Ahhhhahahahaahahahahaha

She said she smiled at you and you gave her the I know you but not sure from where look.

Catch up soon mate. Drop you a text in the next few weeks. Got some time off at the festive period so midweek drinking is allowed.

    LB

  19. without trying to be Andy Gray, the team will take a : 4-1-4-1 shape, as Bitton is the only natural sitting midfielder. Johansen likes to get about the pitch too much to be considered a sitting midfielder.

Our only hope is big Bitton plays a blinder in the Mathius Sammer role

  20. I agree ruggy, but Kris can’t track back like Johansen and that is where we can be exposed and cut open by Zagreb. We could be in for a bumpy ride tonight.

  21. Zagreb’s central midfielder – Marcelo Brozovic – hot property / much coveted in Spain / Italy / Germany and England.Zagreb are willing to sell .Cost ? 10 million euros.Very good player !
