No rest period for Emilio will be welcomed

I know I’m not the only one with a pavlovian dislike of hearing Celtic players mentioned in international match reports in June.  Preseason training is only four weeks away, quickly followed by the Champions League qualifying round, so these weeks should be for rest and recuperation.  The one exception to the rule, this summer, is Emilio Izaguirre, who is set to play two World Cup qualifiers for Honduras over the next two weeks.

Emilio missed most of last season through injury and then sat out much of the remaining part of the campaign due to the impressive form of Charlie Mulgrew.  He is the one player in the squad who benefit from competitive football to restore his edge, and confidence.

First time in my life I ever wanted to see another Latin team beat Brazil.

I’m glad Mexico won tonight. Brazil were dirty. Played like Argentina. Neimar and Marcelo should have been red carded. The Latin sense of entitlement not normally seen in Brazil came out tonight as it did when they were humped 3-0 by the Dutch in the last World Cup. Mexico played some good football, good defending and an excellent keeper. Could be one to watch out for in Brazil 2014. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call to Brazil to play Brazilian type football being that they dont need to qualify as hosts.

The thing about Airth is that just outside it ia famous (or so I thought) folly known as the Pineapple. Available for private hire.

What is Green’s legal status with respect to Rangers?

OK, got it, he’s “prospective chief exec” according to the RFC(IA) website.

  7. I’m sure wee chic will break his long silence on matters football… pen a “worried and concerned” piece about Tommo’s alleged departure from Celticland…….

Evening all, just in and out tonight.

Bournes@22:03 – It must have really hurt Daryll to put that statement out.

I’ll leave my fellow celts with this thought.

What have Alex Thompson, Private Eye, RTC, the SFA, the SFL, the SPL and the chairman of Dunfermline, St.Mirren, Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, St Johnstone, Motherwell & Rapid Vienna all got in common?

A year ago none of them hated Rangers enough to do something about them.

    Good night Mr Green

  15. Was driving into Liverpool this morning and was confronted by an orange walk which by chance was passing a big green white and gold pub called the Shamrock Bar quiet ironic, also noticed not many followers alongside them mind you it was raining very hard at the time and the band sounded very downbeat

  16. Ellboy - I am Neil Lennon, YNWA. on

Good news first, the SFA’s statement seems very strong and leaves little doubt to the course of action that should now follow. So suspension or termination it is then. :)

Bad news. Thomson leaving is a bit of a shocker. Hopefully nothing sinister behind it but nothing has suggested him leaving was ever on the cards. Top current bun skelper, both as a player and now as a coach. Quite a loss, I hope he’s gone for the right reasons and with everyone’s blessings.

  17. Much has been suggested of Thommo`s personal difficulties over recent times

I can only wish the bhoy all the very best

A good CFC man and a true hunskelper

    Good luck pal

  20. SFA statement tonight sounds like it was written with FIFA standing over their shoulders.

Looks pretty grim for the Darnel – even if, by some miracle, Carloway takes sympathy on them, I’d expect the SFA/FIFA to hammer them for simply taking them to court.

    Could be a big week…
