‘NOBODY WANTS THE BOSS TO GO,’ FORREST

CELTIC winger James Forrest is delighted Brendan Rodgers is in no rush to leave Celtic.

The Irishman has dismissed speculation linking him with the Arsenal managerial position which will become vacant at the end of the season when Arsene Wenger quits after 22 years in charge.

Forrest said: “The gaffer has been incredible since he’s come in, with what he has done for the club.

“If players and managers do well, they will always get linked, but it’s good that we have him as our manager. Obviously, nobody wants him to go.

“You don’t get linked with a job that size unless you are doing well, but we want him to stay here and push on. Hopefully, that will happen.”

Following yesterday’s 2-1 defeat against Hibs at Easter Road, the Hoops can seal their seventh successive Premiership title when Sevco Rangers arrive at Parkhead a week today.

The SPFL and Police Scotland had been at pains to try to avoid the champions clinching the flag against the Ibrox outfit, but that now looks likely.

Forrest added: “‘Hopefully, we can win the league next week.

“This defeat is gone now and it would be tremendous to now go and do it in front of our own fans.”
