Nomme Kalju on remarkable run of tight games

121

Nomme Kalju are 20 games into the Estonian league campaign, which they were in contention to retain until recently.  Their unexpected win in Macedonia in the last round of Champions League qualification was the only victory in their last five outings, a run of results which sees them sitting 12 points off the pace domestically.

One of the remarkable aspects of their results is their inability to win or lose games convincingly.  In the last three months, 18 or their 19 games have been settled by a single goal, or drawn.  Their three cup games in that period all went to extra time.

The overwhelming takeaway from reading their form is that this team are involved in tight battles for 90 minutes in virtually every game.  Even the last game they lost by more than a single goal, a 0-3 defeat, was level on 81 minutes.

I expect Celtic to get the better of proceedings tonight, but we need to finish the game strongly.  Nomme will be fitter than we are and used to playing to the final whistle.

Know nothing about those new names but decent clubs.

I was pleased to see no mention of Stephen O’Donnell though.

Thanks – for a pretty baffling link.

Lenny says we dropped interest in RB Simpson, as we were close with Elhamed – who isn’t a RB shoe-in.

He may deputise for Jozo, if he goes to Lille for not much more than we paid for him.

Plus, the hunt for the lesser spotted right back goes on in Switzerland, Spain, Poland. But not Ayrshire.

Nicky Hammond moves in mysterious ways eh!

By the time i cook it early morning it will look like a

roll with mince, but it will be delicious.

Strangely enough ye aul Lorne sausage is a much desired

commodity here in Oz , haggis and black puddin as well.

I suppose with all the Celtic clubs, pubs, Irish, Scottish,

heritage industries etc it was bound to be a winner for any

    enterprising butcher lol.

But as long as the tic win i’ll happily eat it standing on my head.

    —————

Or announce an actual right back. Signing a journeyman who’s played 5 matches in his career at right back and panning him of as a right back is just embarrassing I’m afraid.

Regardless, welcome to him and we wish him all the best.

  12. For it’s a grand Hateem to play for…..

    for it’s a grand Hateem to see…

we don;t care what the mineshafters say

what the hell do we care

  16. The reason it’s so difficult to sign experienced full backs is that lots of teams play 3 at the back 🤫

Well with such a dearth of RB’s smart and talented players will be reinventing themselves as right backs…
