calmac, christie, rogic, ajer, forrest, even mikey johnson – even even larsson and hartson ( took both 10 – 20 games before they were appreciated). give new players time. And do it with the grace of a celtic fan not the rabid derision of others (BBC news covered spurs winning a friendly but not our CL result).

Well 31003, you certainly have woken up the blog. I think Posters were just in the mood of talking about the game and your question was a bit of a curve ball with it’s timing.
Very good professional performance, with no easy ties in Europe, this is clearly Neil Lennon’s side now, where he won’t give auto starts to Brendan’s men? Overall, he’s done exceptionally well, and certainly better than Steve Bruce to silence the Rafael Benitez non starters. Disregarding his service as a winning player, captain and successful manager is for SMSM, and not to be mimicked, as they prepare for another season of pot shoting Celtic.
This tie was sealed in Glasgow as expected, but even against minnows Celtic deficiencies show, and will be judged, correctly against our bank vaults, Celtic need A) another right back B) another midfielder and C) another striker.
IMO, and not ideally on the eve of the first SPL game these three, are required in order that the latest window closes with us stronger, as we emerge, with a chance of CL or even Europa League credibility.
The safety route of Champions League money, which will equate to £40million of lost, or saved revenue, is a bigger target than ever to miss – Celtic?
As other posters have alluded, Cluj are on a different level, to the opening ties, fully accepting we can’t have a fully rounded squad, a settled system, a settled side, early in the qualifiers, but its just plain naff that Celtic seem to go up so many cul de sacs, looking for players only happy to earn as little as £20K per week.
A French club is guaranteed to come in for a fit Ntcham and such is the players unpredictability, we’ll sell, the shadow cast over this window however is Arsenal, and Neil Lennon’s one or two is really, three or four.
We’re down on quality, and the void at full back doesn’t need jam tomorrow.

The thing i like most about Shved so far is the hunger to score goals, he always looking for that yard to get a shot away, obviously he knows his left foot is lethal. I thought the game overall was quite scrappy and further evidence that quite a few players are still searching for top gear or even somewhere near full fitness. A job well done in this round and hopefully we can iron out a few things for Saturday and next week. The season starts for real on Saturday that is for sure.

only country coefficients (which decide which round we start the qualifiers) are available in qualifiers. Team coefficients (which decide whether we are seeded or not) are only available in the CL and EL group stages and beyond.

We still look a bit experimental at the back, this is due to not getting players in early enough.

So that means if we want fewer qualifying rounds, we need the new huns and aberdeen to do as well as possible in the qualifiers.
