  1. That’s me and the youngest Bhoy booked up for Cluj. Oldest Bhoy lives there and has been tasked with ticket procurement. We haven’t seen him since Christmas. Mrs PMTYH disappointed she can go and see her Golden Bhoy, well somebody has to work.😉

  2. Someone mentioned this earlier but Morgan looked a far more impressive player when he came in from the wing.

    Perhaps I have written him off too soon.

  3. Thought Craig Gordan looked steady as a rock and was pleased to see him get 90mins.

    We need genuine competition in every position.

    The player with the jersey needs to know that one bad performance could mean the bench next time around.

    not for wins/draws. you get something when you are illuminated in qualifiers but a win/draw in a game gains no points for the club but does for the country.

    Excellent post, and to quote, -“…..it is naff that Celtic go up so many cul-de-sacs.” End quote.

    Does this make you one if the “Whingers”?😊

    I see Lenny stated the hunt for the latest right back has stalled ( possibly Widmer, who went through with Basle tonight?)

    I wonder how far down the list of RBs we are now? Must be getting perilously close to O’Donnell.

    Becomes first Celtic signing to score a goal that was similar to his u tube clips

    Good night

  7. 31003 – I’ll admit not top quality but:

    Simon Donnelly – played up front with Henril when we stopped their ten;

    Mark Burchill;

    Simon Ferry;

    Shaun Maloney (MON played him as a striker);

    Craig Beattie;

    Ritchie Towell (who seemed to get promoted from theScottish Championship every year for a while)

    Cillian Sheridan.

    I think only Donnelly and Maloney would have any chance of breaking through now. If Charlie Nick was the last top striker we brought through, its partly because We’ve had better strikers since Tommy Burn’s time as manager than we had for a long time; Big Pierre; Thom; Cadette; Di Canio; Henrik; Sutton; Harrison; JVoH; MacDonald; Hooper; Griff; Dembele and Eddy. We’ve been absolutely spoiled for good strikers so it’s hard for kids to break through and keep a place, as shown by the above list – all had high hopes but none consistent enough to make a spot their own so leave to find football elsewhere…

    Long, hot humid summery Celtic transfer windows have made many a winger, into a whinger.

    I think this Celtic shaped window nowadays is unique, BR compensation millions, Stuart Armstrong millions, Moussa Dembele millions, and now Moussa Dembele sell on millions, and Celtic supporters with as good a handle on the transfer income, as Christopher McKay.

    Thereafter Celtic have the knowledge and no amount of fag packet economics, or five minute Googling, compares with the Celtic Football Department, which has signed more players in Scotland than any other club since 1888, and definitely since 2012.

    With our sensible realistic hats on, and not knee jerky Euro qualifier fears, we are clearly priced out of ‘the transfer market’ due to the financial lunacy of our neighbours a couple of hundred miles south, the very fact that we’re linked with some, give the fans the fear, the last place we should be looking for a player to replace a Swedish international, is England?

    ‘Global Celtic’ though have signed the Ukrainian player of the year, a £7M French giant and a Belgian with Scott Sinclair’s hair do for £3.25M. Would you believe we’ve even broken our transfer record for a Right Back whom to everybody else, other than Celtic is a Centre Back.

    Anyway, we’d be as well not turning up on Saturday, as Newco have already won the main prize, we now need to spend millions just for those mere diamonds in the midden.

  9. Melbourne Mick on

    Hello again all you young rebels.

    Thats if any of you are still awake.

    Imagine sleeping in when a Celtic game was on, shame on me.

    Now to watch it.

    Brilliant post, sums it up perfectly.

  10. We’re still tinkers to them and its thrown at our ears we’re still the office stranger’s after all these years

    And I think about my own life and the way it would be an escort van a bit of dealing a wife and a family.

  11. had to laff about the comment about Shved and that he scored one of his youtube goals.

    if he indeed plays like his youtube profile, the right midfield( MR invisible forrest) position could be his, time will tell

  12. Hunderbirds are Gone on

    Morning Bhoys.

    Well, a hassle free, competent, professional performance away in Europe. Good to see Big Julien getting a full game under his belt. Another game for Griff, and a scoring debut for Shved. Flag day up next, so plenty for the Happy Clapper wing to be satisfied with.

    Don’t feel left out though Mineshafters, there has still been no right back signing.

    Flag day next up.

  13. Could be shampoo but….

    From a good source…. There is no sell on clause for Moussa.

  14. Good morning CQN from a damp underfoot, but dry at the moment Garngad

    Right a competent performance over 2legs, we now move onto our bread and butter.

    Let’s get a good start to the league campaign this year starting on Saturday, then think about Clujy.

    Get a good start and put some pressure on the other teams around about us, come on the bhoys.

    It will be tough this season as Sleekit/slippy G’s Rankurs have won everything again this close (brothers) season.😝

    D. :)

  15. It’s pointless debating if James Forrest merits a place in the team, or not.

    His name will be the first one on the team sheet, now that Lenny is back at the helm.

    Finally read something half sensible on the Daily Ranger website:

    They opine that the players have been instructed to shoot on sight by the manager, like Kris Commons and Ki used to do.

    Good to hear that’s it’s Romania first then Paradise for the 2nd leg which could prove to be a significant advantage.

    HH. 🍀

  16. Now, one of the reasons I posted that league table is that I was on bet365 looking at their odds for winning the league. They also show the league table but seem to have slipped up in their understanding of ‘alphabetical order’ as their version reads…Aberdeen, Celtic, Rangers, Hamilton, Hearts, Hibs………

    Incidentally I see that we are ‘only’ 2/5 to win it, with our nearest challengers 2/1 and Aberdeen at 33/1. The betting ‘without Celtic’ tempted me more – Sevco are 1/14 and Aberdeen 10/1.

    Personally I don’t think any of those odds reflect (a) how much better Celtic are to Sevco and (b) how much closer Aberdeen are to Sevco.

    Off to study the various league odds before I place my usual ‘I can retire if this comes up’ 5-fold of league winners ;-)

    “if he indeed plays like his youtube profile, the right midfield( MR invisible forrest) position could be his, time will tell”

    Some people are highly visible when they score ONE goal.

    Others remain “invisible” despite scoring SEVENTEEN in each of the last two seasons.

    I’ll be delighted, as it will be for the benefit of Celtic, if Shved outperforms James Forrest.

    I expected the £13m man Paddy Roberts to do just that but, sadly for us and him, he threatened to, but never managed it in the end.

  18. Never Alone

    “Could be shampoo but….

    From a good source…. There is no sell on clause for Moussa.”

    If it were to be true……… it would be another example of really bad PR from our club. The minute the suggestion was raised in the press that Moussa had a sell-on clause, then our club could have dampened all speculation on this by confirming that there wasn’t, but they “failed” to do so.

    Therefore, I am unsure if this bit of gossip is a dastardly attempt to assist PL & DD in their attempt to squirrel away money that should be spent on the club :-)

    Or a belated realisation that they should get this true information out there and have decided to go down the inefficient route of gossip and leak.

    Or… if it is just untrue.

    We should soon find out as Moussa scored a double against the Arsenal on Sunday, which should further convince suitors to buy him.
