FALKIRK boss John McGlynn has labelled claims that Calvin Miller was on the brink of a deadline-day return to Celtic as “nonsense”.
Former Hoops defender Charlie Mulgrew stated he reckoned the left-sided forward was on Martin O’Neill’s wanted list and was being lined to rejoin the club he left in 2020.
The one-time Scotland international centre-back insisted Miller’s agent received a call two days before the transfer window closed and a deal for Miller was just about over the line before the deadline.
Obviously, a switch to the champions did not materialise and McGlynn rubbished the misguided reports.
The double promotion-winning gaffer, speaking to the Scottish Sun, said: “It is a lot of nonsense. There is never an agent who has done a deal in my life. Never can an agent do a deal.

NO GO…Calvin Miller tussles for the ball with Julian Arauajo during Celtic’s 1-0 win at Falkirk last month.
“There was NO communication between Celtic and Falkirk. None whatsoever.
“Celtic have never spoken to anyone at Falkirk.”
Mulgrew had told a radio football station: “I know that Celtic were trying to get Calvin Miller. He thought he was in the door.
“His agent got a call two days before [the deadline]saying it’s ready to be done, they want him and he was delighted to go back to Celtic.
“At 8.30pm on the night of the window, it was done. He thought he was getting a dream move back to Celtic and it didn’t happen. He got told at 8.30pm that the deal was off.”
Miller has been enjoying an outstanding season for Falkirk after their return to the Premiership with the club now occupying a top-six position.
The 28-year-old versatile performer has netted six goals in 32 appearances and has 18 months left on his contract.
