NORWICH CITY TARGET CELTIC’S TOP SCOUT FOR DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL ROLE

1
CELTIC’S chief talent spotter David Moss is attracting interest from Championship side Norwich City.
The Carrow Road outfit are searching for a new manager following the sacking of former Hamilton Accies boss Alex Neil on Friday and want to have a Director of Football in place before appointing a new man.

Moss, who is the Head of Development scouting at the champions, was part of the network which helped bring Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama to the Hoops.

He was also the man who opened talks with Moussa Dembele’s agent Mamadi Fofana and played a huge part in helping Brendan Rodgers bring the 32-goal French Under-21 striker to Parkhead from Fulham in the summer.

The former Partick Thistle and Falkirk midfielder previously held the Academy Manager’s job at Swansea and Crystal Palace.

Celtic, of course, last night announced the appointment of Lee Congerton as the club’s new Head of Recruitment, much to the delight of manager Brendan Rodgers.
The media of course had spent the previous week speculating that Celtic had pursued the same targets as the Comedy club and had shared the same frustrations at being knocked back by employees at Southampton and Tottenham.
The more simple truth, is that Brendan got his man yesterday and they knew nothing about it until the story broke on the Celtic website.
