Not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures” patter

488

I appreciate there are people wanting to book flights and other travel arrangements, but I’m not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures?” patter.  No one else cares or is concentrating on who Celtic will play when they win the league, others have thoughts only for the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Get Sunday wrong and it will be our last meaningful game of the season.  Whether the police are stuck in the last century or not makes no difference, but take our eye off the ball as we prepare for the weekend and things go wrong.  Look at St Mirren for an example of a club and support which spent energy planning a title party but lost to the worst Dundee United team in over 40 years.

Sunday is the only fixture we have. Literally. Keep our heads in the game.

  1. Mahe, cool. If you don’t like it you don’t need to use it.

Big Packy – just use the 3rd one down for `e-mail and IM’

  2. Knowing about fixtures well in advance is hugely important for those of us who live a fair distance from Celtic Park.

I’ve been waiting ages for their announcement and finally made travel arrangements for the match v Soft Loans Co.

So, on Saturday 28th April I will catch a bus from Dublin City centre at 7am (along with my big wee bro) and on arrival at Belfast we will catch a transfer to the ferry terminal and will travel as foot passengers on the boat and then be picked up by a bus in Cairnryan which will then take us to Glasgow where we have booked an overnight stay.

After a full Scottish breakfast we will head up for the match but won’t hang about afterwards as we catch our bus for the return journey at 3.15pm in the city centre.

We should arrive back in Dublin city centre around 1am on Monday 30th.

I’d prefer to fly but unfortunately, my big wee bro has had some bad flying experiences in the last few years and isn’t quite ready yet to travel by plane.

It was a nightmare making these bookings but we managed it in the end.

Really looking forward to 29th but it could have been a lot easier if we’d had known sooner.

I don’t mind CR7. He bought us a drink in his Lisbon boozer 27/5/17. ?

You and R better get into training for that trek.

Look forward to seeing you both again.

  5. Almore your dedication toward the Hoops is admirable sir, I doff my cap to you and everyone like you who travels afar to see the bhoys.

  6. Having watched Juve over the years in Serie A, other than Sevco I haven’t seen a team so favoured in their own league.

Former referee Keith Hackett believes Martin Atkinson’s one-sided performance at the Etihad Stadium in yesterday’s Manchester derby is proof of why no English referees have been invited to the 2018 World Cup.

Atkinson made a string of errors in favour of eventual winners Manchester United, most noticeably failing to give the most nailed-on penalty you will ever see when Ashley Young slid in studs-first on Sergio Aguero.

Can’t wait to get a settled team again- can’t remember when it felt like we had one last. Injuries have been shocking this year.

I am certainly no fan of Real Madrid but I do have a great deal of respect for CR7, his talent is indisputable but more importantly his charitable work is admirable and much underreported.

  9. D66: Cheers. Not looking for praise. Just trying to give an insight into what it is like for those of us who love the HOOPS but don’t live within easy reach of Celtic Park.

HebCelt, England/Wales based supporters, overseas supporters and many others make similar efforts.

  10. Delaneys Dunky – can you see the photo of Benny okay cos when I click on the link I can’t see his photo?

IHTCMN do you think we will get a settled team??

I think now that Brendan has a lot of players back off injury that he will rotate players even more.

Be interesting to see how many times our defence has had the same 4 or 3 ?

Defence is one area that should definitely be settled in my veiw.

  13. Marspapa – follow instructions to Big Packy to upload photos we can view here.

  14. Amore I hope my post didn’t come across like you were looking for praise that was not my intention. It was sincere.

I have a lot of respect for CR7. Less so for his team. Love Kroos though.
