Not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures” patter

488

I appreciate there are people wanting to book flights and other travel arrangements, but I’m not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures?” patter.  No one else cares or is concentrating on who Celtic will play when they win the league, others have thoughts only for the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Get Sunday wrong and it will be our last meaningful game of the season.  Whether the police are stuck in the last century or not makes no difference, but take our eye off the ball as we prepare for the weekend and things go wrong.  Look at St Mirren for an example of a club and support which spent energy planning a title party but lost to the worst Dundee United team in over 40 years.

Sunday is the only fixture we have. Literally. Keep our heads in the game.

Was hoping for a couple of Saturday 3pm games. None really suits, but I will still be at the 3 home games. A draw against Hibs would make things interesting.

I feel for the fans who need to travel Dena and the likes, no consideration for them whatsoever.

  5. I am utterly scunnered by those fixtures. Why not even 1 Saturday match? And I have just renewed my Season Ticket. If I had known what the end of this season was going to be, I would have seriously reconsidered.

Really scunnered. I can’t imagine too many of our Irish support will be too happy either.

It is hopeless time for Dena, Gearoid and Almore. Even Bateen coming from Aberdeen.

The support are getting used here to suit tv and polis. Criminal

  9. Dunno if it’s been said already (not read back), but if we let Hibs win on the 21st, then even if Sevco only draw at home to Hearts, the titlstill won’t be formally clinched when we run out to face Sevco on the 29th, and merely a draw in that game will finish the job off nicely.

And in addition to the added satisfaction of rubbing their noses in it, the unexpected 3 point bonus for Hibs against us will put them in a very strong position to finish above Sevco in the final table, potentially denying the latter the complications of having to meet the entry conditions for next season’s Europa League.

    What’s not to like?

  10. LEFTCLIKTIC

Since my Grandsons stopped going with me a wee bit of me died inside if truth be told .

I miss the whole going upto to pick them up in the car ..getting parked up…chasing them / playing tig upto TCW ……then my chest almost bursting with pride when i woukd meet you lot at the corner ….getting upto our seets talking tactics with Ross and reassuring Mark he would get his steakpie , chips , chocolate and his juice !!……tbey are waiting for the wheels to come off the Celtic bus so they and their dad can give me it tight lol…

And when they misbehaved i had you beside me to threaten them with ?

Anyhoo looks like it will be next season before i see you again at a game all the bedt to you and yours .????

I make it out of the 15 fixtures the hopeless SPFL have 4 sat 3pm kick offs.:(((

  12. PARKHEADCUMSALFORD on 11TH APRIL 2018 4:32 PM

I would think you would still be able to cancel as there is a waiting list (apparently).

  13. Simples lose against the Hibees at Easter Road and we take on the Huns at Celtic Park to win the league and party

or would they hastily rearrange the fixture

  14. BIGCHIPSUK – 10 IN A ROW (2001-2010)

And what happens god forbid they win the cup … will the powers that be make the proper decisions .

  15. Can some of those who are unhappy please tell me when we have ever had Saturday games after the split.

It is not new this season for us not to get Saturday games post split.

We have to have final game on TV and same with Sevco game.

Only the Killie game would have been a candidate for a Saturday in all reality. It was allocated a mid week slot.

Personally we play all the teams home and away 2 times. So we are better off than most.

I am sure the traveling support will all enjoy the weekend winning the title vs Sevco potentially and then getting the Trophy on a Sunday vs Aberdeen especially if Hibs beat Sevco that day also.

They are driving fans away from attending.

    Sickening.

Glad the wee man has caught the away bug.

It was at his age that my dad and uncles started taking me to away games. Remember my excitement at going to places like Dunfermline and Ayr etc. It was like going on your holidays every fortnight. Loved Bayview Methil for some reason ??

I wonder at times why i hav’nt taken to the drink ?….then you take a look at the world around you and realise that we’re blessed .

  18. That’s as bad a combination of fixtures as we could have been handed IMHO.

“Without fans who pay at the turnstile, football is nothing. Sometimes we are inclined to forget that”.

  19. Paul67 et al

Looks like you were not the only one Paul not interested in where the fixtures were, or when they are come to that. Once again the SPFL and the Celtic Board have combined to treat the support with contempt. Who would believe that a club attempting to break Willie Maley’s great record, and one who has brought £8 million to the league in the past two seasons alone, would end the season without a Saturday mid-afternoon kick-off at Celtic Park? Well I would for starters. Once again a plaything for Sky Sports, and a Supporters Liason Officer who should be done under the Trade Descriptions Act! A total disgrace, (but not a total surprise) by all concerned.
