BRENDAN RODGERS insists Yang Hyun-jun is going nowhere in this transfer window.
The Celtic boss sees the South Korean winger as a crucial part of his first-team squad as the wide Bhoy demonstrated with a neat goal against Ajax in Como last night.
Unfortunately, there was an astonishing collapse after the interval and some of Yang’s good work could have been overlooked in the rubble of a dreadful 5-1 defeat as the Amsterdam outfit ran amok with Kasper Schmeichel the most overworked man on the field.

HIGH FIVES…new Bhoy Benjamin Nygren congratulates goalscorer Yang Hyu-jun with Daizen Maeda joining in against Ajax in Como last night.
Yang also clattered the woodwork early in the contest with the Dutch side and, as he did in the 4-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday where he claimed No.3, he looked a threat on the right.
The international flanker was part of a fake story earlier in the week that stated he was on his way to Norwich City, but the tale was exposed as bogus, as CQN pointed out.
Far from heading for East Anglia, it’s clear Yang’s future is in Glasgow.
Rodgers emphasised: “I see Yang as an important member of our squad. He’s a player who showed that domestically he can play really well for us.
“He scored goals. He created goals. You see against Ajax that the goal he scored is very, very good.
“It’s always a challenge, I think, at a club like Celtic, whenever players have maybe been for a couple of seasons and they’re not quite established.
“Because then they want to go and play more. But certainly at this stage, where we’re at within the squad, it’s not something I can even entertain. You see he’s starting the games.”
Rodgers, speaking to the Daily Record, added: “I see him as an important player for us in our squad. And once we can get the quality around him, then he’ll be a good player for us.
“At the moment, he’s a starting winger for us. So, we’re not in a position to be moving him on.
“It’s not even in our thinking, really.”
