‘NTCHAM IS A HAPPY CELT,’ BOSS

BRENDAN RODGERS has hinted Celtic may be keen to extend the contract of Olivier Ntcham who agreed a four-year deal when he arrived in a £4.5million deal from Manchester City last summer.

Portuguese giants Porto have been linked with the 22-year-old who has impressed since settling in beside skipper Scott Brown.

Rodgers admitted: “There is interest in Olivier, but him and I speak regularly.

“He is happy here where he is playing and again that will be something myself and his representatives will be able to talk about and organise.”

The French ace is likely to have a key role in the Europa League first leg play-off against FK Suduva in Lithuania tonight as Rodgers deals with injuries and call-offs.

Jack Hendry, like Dedryck Boyata, didn’t make yesterday’s flight after sunstaining an ankle injury against Partick Thistle on Saturday and £9million striker Odsonne Edouard will again be missing with a strain.

However, the Hoops gaffer added: “We have the squad of players who can do the job. I don’t think there is any question of that.

“We have Kris Ajer back in again, he’s been a revelation, fantastic. We have Jozo Simunovic there, as well, and players who can cover the position.

“In terms of numbers we are not as strong as we have been in the past, but we have enough over the two legs to get the job done.”
