Ntcham, Sinclair, resting muscles

134

Lots to be pleased about last night.  We rested eight players from the weekend, allowing carbs to accumulate in key muscles ahead of Easter Road on Saturday.  Hibs themselves went the other way in taking 120 minutes + penalties to reach the semi-finals.

I liked the look of Olivier Ntcham in the deep playmaker roll.  Will we see more of Scott Brown resting for Olivier?  Maybe.  They are not the same type of player, Scott gives us something Olivier does not and vice versa, but it would be interesting to discover how this one would play out.

Scott Sinclair loves a goal and he loved last night’s more than most.  Whatever the reason he has not been in the manager’s plans this season, it was great to see him back and making those well-timed runs into the box.

Ideally, Callum McGregor would have been in the North Stand beside me, not playing from the start, but at least he was rested after the hour mark.

Job done as our 29th consecutive domestic cup games was won in some style.  Hibs and Celtic will both have greater priorities than the League Cup when they meet at Hampden in the next round but for different reasons.  Happy with the draw.

The dwindling numbers are due to the in house Celtic haters having downed tools. NFL and Peter Lawwell have put them in their place.

This season is all about getting everything in place for next. Wouldn’t surprise me if Celtic go unbeaten domestically all the way to X. You won’t hear a peep from the Celtic haters or der Hun along the way.

  2. *** CQN PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2019-20 ***

RESULTS FROM GAME #6 – CELTIC 5 PARTICK THISTLE 0 (BAYO, NTCHAM (2), ROGIC, SINCLAIR)

As usual I begin with a thanks for your support. 38 folk voted and a new record was created – all 38 included Olivier Ntcham in their top 3. With most of the usual ‘big players’ not appearing last night this has resulted in a few new folk joining the overall roll of honour.

The votes for the 14 who played a part last night were as follows (the asterisk are next to my own 3 picks) –

    Gordon: 0

    Frimpong: 34*

    Elhamed: 3

    Ajer: 1

    Hayes: 4

    Ntcham: 38*

    McGregor: 3

    Elyounoussi: 0

    Rogic: 3*

    Morgan: 0

    Bayo: 27

    Brown: 0

    Sinclair: 1

    Hendry: 0

Unused subs – Forster, Boli-Bolingoli, Forrest, Edouard

So the players receiving points for the Partick game are –

    Ntcham – 5 points

    Frimpong – 4 points

    Bayo – 3 points

    Hayes – 2 points

Elhamed, McGregor, Rogic – 1 point

This means that the aggregate total points are as follows –

    Forrest – 15 points

    Edouard – 13 points

    Jullien – 11 points

    Christie – 10 points

    Bolingoli-Mbombo – 8 points

    Elhamed – 8 points

    Brown – 5 points

    Ntcham – 5 points

    Frimpong – 4 points

    Bayo – 3 points

    Bitton – 3 points

    Bauer – 2 points

    Hayes – 2 points

    McGregor – 2 points

    Ajer – 1 point

    Forster – 1 point

    Rogic – 1 point

Our next game is on Saturday lunchtime, away to Hibs and so the voting will open from the final whistle until 10pm on Sunda.

Played it once . Nice course , just stay out of the trees! Pissed down when I played it so it was a bit of a slog but definitely a better standard than the courses I’m used to playing.

  6. Hello again all you young rebels.

Got to agree with the posters who find the blog difficult to negotiate,

Hopefully Paul 67 is aware of the problems this is my second attempt

at a post, the first one disappeared into the wilderness just like i’m

about to do as soon as the princess goes to the shoaps lol.

Luvin how the bhoys are playing at the moment, and so much competition

for places, the right back slot in particular is awesome and i’d be happy if

    young Frimpong stayed there.

But what about Elhamed i wouldn’t be happy if he wasn’t in the team?

So do i play him at centre back?

Then i’d either lose big Kris or Julien.

Oh feck this being a manager, think i’ll go hurtin hun huntin after all it’s

Friday and a hoopy happy Celtic weekend beckons, yahoooo.

It’s one of the few occasions the Brothers in The Scottish League influenced by Police Scotland and the SFA have a chance to remind Celtic are playing their football, back of the bus, in a Protestant country . Don’t hold your breath on a favourable outcome.

Bring it on, it only makes us stronger.

Gentlemen I agree with you about the use of flares (and Flairs)at the match as they are a nuisance and dangerous. I was pointing out that the Union Bears statement was basically saying “feqq the law, we’re doing it anyway”just like Boris. I am fed up with these lunatics who seem to think it’s fine to let flares off at away games in Europe damaging our club and supporters reputation. If we could identify the guys who are doing this could Celtic pass the fines on to them.

He was also subbed after 37 mins in the Nomme Kalju game so that might be the memory mix up

    …………….

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought I could remember him going off twice during the qualifiers. I couldn’t remember the details. Cheers.

  10. SFTB

I was surprised at the management of Bolingoli and Jullien during the qualifiers. Like everyone, I thought they had been brought into the club not just to win domestically but to give us the best chance of qualifying for the CL. We kept hearing reports that Lenny felt that Jullien wasn’t fully fit. In Boli’s case, players get injured or sick. My feeling at the time was that both should have played in every game – unless of course one or both had an injury.

    Fred C. Dobson

Yes. I felt that sutton’s savaging of both players at that time was less than helpful. I seriously hope that they weren’t left out of the Cluj game because the criticism influenced Lenny in some way. I guess we’ll never know.

Everything about that game against Cluj still bothers me but I am very happy with the way that we have played since and I now feel that we have a really good pool of players. I would still like us to buy a really tough, holding midfielder who puts himself about when required to do so.

I`ve got the solution. Play both semis on Saturday one at Hampden and the other at Celtic Park…..and just to be fair, Sevco can have Celtic Park :-))

PS As regards any ill feeling between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Nonsense. In those semis, I would like one Glagow side to win and one Edinburgh side to do the same. That`s fair, isn`t it?

I am FULLY Aware that certain people among the Celtic support let off Pyro’s etc at matches…and they should be indentified and banned.

However, I did make the mistake of NOT mentioning or asking in my Post… WHY was it that a Cop was also hit with a Coin from the Huns end v Livingston ( which is in that story from the DR), and yet I havent read or seen ANY mention of THAT Incident on the Scottish media..apart from that particular story ?

Also in that “Statement” from the Union Bears…They also FAIL to Condemn the Coin Throwing !

its also interesting as I have just read back on here, and every Poster who has made a comment about the huns using Pyro’s etc…no one on here made ANY mention of the Cop being Hit with a Coin, which apparently came from the hun End ?

This Chump ( like Trump) is a feckin Loose Cannon and has to be stopped at all costs.

I dare say that some on here will STILL defend this Tin Pot Dictator no matter what he says and does…and from what I have read so far on here since Wednesdays events in the Commons…those on here who have defended this Power Crazed Chump recently have all gone very quiet ?

After Her question to Johnson ( who FAILED to appear) in the Commons yesterday….( This is the LYING Chump that calls Jeremy Corbin a Coward ???)…..I emailed the Birmingham MP Jess Phillips to offer some kind of Moral Support from the Calton/Glasgow in relation to the Abuse and Threats of Violence against her and other Female MP’s in particular…..I now read this morning that Her Office in Birmingham was attacked late yesterday by a Guy, and her staff had to be LOCKED IN the Office for safety !

This is the kind of Violence and Unrest that Johnson is deliberately fuelling each and every day….and although I am angry at Him and his Cronies, I dont wish to see any MP being abused or attacked etc….although I am fully aware that I did suggest that Boris needs a Right Good Boot in the Baws a few Days ago, on here…but he doesnt count…I’ll make an exception in his case !

  19. Well done the Hoops on Wednesday. Could have been tricky especially after the Dunfermline tie and given the amount of changes. Had to be content with highlights where Ntcham looked immense. Livi at home will be hard to beat on their plastic pitch.

Sevco’s Helander has been linked with a big money move to Clachnacudden. What a performance he put in !

You are not one to mince your words.

A ” government ” who are quite willing to let the poorest and most vulnerable in our society suffer as they chase a vote that the majority of its people don’t want ?

    ………..

Being my Age that I am for my height…I was an Adult during the Thatcher years etc, and still clearly remember the misery that Her and her Tory Cronies heaped onto the Working Class folk of this Country….and I was horrified at watching Miner fighting Miner in 1984…and THAT “Scenario” was indeed carefully planned by Thatcher…as was the the Battles with the Police and Miners…ALL Orchestrated by Thatcher and her Cronies…DELIBERATE Ploys !

I didnt think I would see anything as bad as Miner fighting Miner, and a Tory Government hell bent on causing mayhem against the Working Classes …But we are seriously heading in that very same direction under this Power Mad, would be Dictator and HIS Cronies.

Let is not also forget, that in 1982…Thatcher was on her way OUT…and she and her Tory cronies knew it…only for The Falklands War coming to Her feckin Rescue !

At that time, we became snowed under in a Sea of “Rule Britannia”…and Union Jack Flag wavers…..Sadly, what is happening now is in danger of overtaking anything that thatcher instigated.

All it needs is for Trump to tell his Pupil Boris that the USA needs Britains assistance in a War against Iran…..and Master Boris would jump at the chance to get the UK involved….and we would allow him to act like Thatcher, and before you know it…we would be under the Rule Britannia Mob yet again….with young Men and women…and Babies being Murdered…while Boris safely tucked away in a London pad watching his USA Burd slide up and down on a feckin Pole…Draped most likely in a feckin Union Jack….

This whole situation with Johnson and those Brexiteers is gonna get worse….I sincerely hope that I am wrong ?
