‘OBSESSED LEVEIN COULD FACE SFA REACTION,’ RODGERS

BRENDAN RODGERS has warned “obsessed” Craig Levein he could find himself in trouble with the SFA following his remarks about Celtic skipper Scott Brown.
The Scotland international midfielder insisted the Hearts manager’s remarks that “everyone in Scottish football needed protection from Scott Brown” made him a marked man with match officials.
Brown was aggrieved when referee Kevin Clancy booked him for his first foul in the Hoops’ 1-0 loss at Kilmarnock last weekend.
That prompted Levein to continue the argument with an accusation the player got himself booked deliberately in order to ensure he would be free of suspension to face Sevco Rangers on March 10.
Brown’s one-game ban will see him miss the meeting with St Johnstone a week on Sunday, but Rodgers was amazed the Tynecastle gaffer had gone to such lengths as to work out the champions’ forthcoming schedule. The Parkhead boss said: “He is obviously fairly obsessed by our captain.

“It is a credit to Scott that you’ve got another manager, who is not even playing against him, talking about him. I don’t think you need to say any more.“If that is what has been said – and I haven’t seen it yet so I have to see it – then he might have something to answer on that.”
