O’CONNELL HEADS HOME TO CORK

0

EOGHAN O’Connell has today gone out on loan to  Cork City until July 1 this year. The promising young Celtic defender is from Cork so will be striving to impress his local team when the new League of Ireland season starts in March. Cork open with a home fixture against Bohemians.

Eoghan came through Celtic’s Youth Academy and has impressed in the  six appearances he has made for the Celtic first-team. He made his debut against Ross County in March 2014.

He had a loan spell at Oldham Athletic earlier in the season as part of Ronny Deila’s policy of getting developing players vital first team game time elsewhere when they aren’t yet ready to make the Celtic starting line-up.

Eoghan time at Oldham was cut short  after he suffered an injury after just two appearances for the English side.
