ODEGAARD STAYING IN SPAIN

RONNY DEILA’S hopes of arranging a season-long loan for Real Madrid teenager Martin Odegaard look doomed.
The Celtic boss has admitted he would be interested if his former Stromsgodset star was allowed to leave the Spanish giants on a temporary deal.
However, La Liga side Getafe are discussing the possibility of a move and new boss Rafa Benitiez is thinking over the proposal. It is believed the former Liverpool manager would prefer to keep the 16-year-old Norwegian international midfielder in Spanish football.
Ironically, Odegaard made his Real Madrid debut on the last day of the last season against Getafe.
The clubs have already done business in the summer break with another Bernabeu youngster Alvaro Medran joining for the forthcoming campaign.
Odegaard has told Benitez he would like to get regular first team football in the new season.
Deila has been monitoring the situation, but it could be he will be out of luck in his efforts to be reunited with the exciting youngster.
