Odsonne and fixing whatever ails Celtic

181

Six weeks after testing positive for Covid while on international duty with France Under 21s, Odsonne Edouard made his first return to goal scoring form with two early strikes for the French youths against Switzerland last night.  He is now clear as the Under 21s all-time top scorer.

This period has been a turbulent one for Celtic, who dropped five points in the league and suffered a humiliating home defeat to Sparta Prague.  Odsonne has been used sparingly since returning to the team as a late substitute away to Lille and looked short of full fitness.

If we are to fix whatever ails Celtic, getting this man putting the ball in the net regularly again will be necessary.

‘The sense of injustice when this anti Celticness arises in us is more deep rooted, jeez it might even go back to before Snp 😊,who was in power in Scotland then? well i would say roughly 1950 onwards was Labour and pre that we had a tory blight.’

    Not quite.

Have a look at the figures.

What is striking is just how many people in Scotland voted Tory, and how the decline in the Tory vote coincided with the increase in the SNP vote.

It’s important to know these things, because it helps you work out what might happen in the future.

  2. What I really struggle with, and fail to understand

Schools on October break ( 2 weeks in my area), as second Covid outbreak was taking a huge impact

WHY, did we Not going into Tier 4 then, and break the increase cycle ?

Was this due to the Tories, not having confirmed furlough ( if it’s still called that ) at 80% ???

Then, why not go into Tier 4 on the back of Englandshire 2 weeks ago ???

Surely it would have made better sense to have had a break in October, reduce R rate

Then move into another break with the schools Christmas break

Knowing the 80% payment is available through to end of March 21

Could have had another circuit break early March, even if only for a week

    🤔🤔🤔

  3. So the new club from ipox is running up debt and living beyond their means…who da thunk it?

Scottish football corrupt to the core.

    D :)

  4. So, Sevco bought hagi whilst owing the taxman cash, potentially previously bought kent and helander whilst owing hmrc monies but more importantly got a licence to play in Europe whilst owing funds UK Govt……..

    MARTIM1980

They also tried to ‘buy’ Daniel Cousin while they had one foot in the liquidation grave . There is no Sevco related outrage or collusion with the football authorities which will shock me anymore.

  6. Gene saying it potentially goes back to March, explains why sevco did not use furlough scheme as alleged.

  7. Glen D- the money for Cousin was paid, you need to get up early to get one over Willie McKay….so he was a signed player.

  8. GENE

I seem to remember something at the time, they did not utilise it and it was suggested this was because of tax arrears. I’ve not looked up the guidance.

  9. NEIL LENNON & MCCARTNEY & 7:49am

My point is that it’s not at the senior level.

I think it’s unfair to go overboard ‘especially when he plays for Celtic ‘

Someone else has pointed out we might be the problem to him making that step up.

Who knows hopefully he’s getting back to the Eddie of last season

  10. Fairhill bhoy

I thought your point was excellent and totally agree.

France are so powerful and have so many riches that it’s so hard to break into full squad. Therefore their under 21s are laced with talent that would be in the vast majority of countries full squad. Subsequently the teams they play against have these young guys with ability in their full squads which means France u21 play against few countries that can compete on their level.

Always good to see one of our players scoring goals hopefully we’ll see his confidence rise and he’ll produce for Celtic.

  11. Ron – it means another tax dodging, dodgy fecker willing to put some illegally gained cash into that cesspit.

Why will Lawwell be worried, think you would be better worry about Big Bazooka 😉

In case those pesky Celtic fans start digging…
